[NTG-context] Letter module: Public version available
Hi all, although a got a lot of input for the module in my last I decided now to make a first version available to the public. It will give you the chance to test the user interface and play with the layout settings. Styles for other countries than germany are missing in the current release but I hope I could add them in the next few days. You could also take a look at the first draft of my manual I will also fill in the weeks with your questions and my answer and examples of the different layouts. I put also a third file on the page for Peter and Wolfgang. @Peter: You could take a look at letter-17.tex, I wrote a first version for page optimation of the output, feel free to change optimize.nle or to add additional methods. @Wolfgang: Support for address files KOMA-Script is in a very early state and I have to provide a generic interface but you could try example letter-16.tex for the moment. [NTG-context] whizzytex for ConTeXt?
I use AucTeX with Emacs to write ConTeXt documents. Whizzytex is an GNU Emacs minor mode. Hi, my whole project is set in Times without problems - except at one spot there is a "beta" needed. Just this single time! But, unfortunately, I only get it italic: \starttext \usetypescript[postscript][\defaultencoding] \setupencoding[default=texnansi] \enableregime[utf] \setupbodyfont[postscript,10pt] \setupinterlinespace[line=12pt] $\beta$ β% same in unicode \stoptext For it is just this one character, used one single time, I don't feel encouraged to start messing around with typescripts. Use LuaTeX+MKIV.. All your code works fine and generates the right pdf file as attached in the mail. The advice would be: find a font with a suitable character and use something like that: \loadmapfile[iwona-greek] \font\iw="greek-iwonar"\iw \char226 The problem is that TeX Gyre fonts do not (yet) ship with greek tfm files unless I'm mistaken (you can still make tfm file yourself), but there certainly must be some other suitable font. Another dirty option: % engine=luatex \usetypescript[postscript] \setupbodyfont[postscript] \starttext \startTEXpage β \stopTEXpage \stoptext and then \includegraphics[beta]. (You probably need to lower the box as well.) as far as i am concerned, MKIV is far better than MKII/pdftex, and have less bugs concerning the internationalization. I use it for production purpose. I typeset all my essays using luatex, because pdftex/MKII is messy especially on non-latin typesetting. Yes, LuaTeX/MKIV had bugs, but Taco and Hans can solve them:) again. MKII+XeTeX should also produce the right pdf. but I didn't try. (XeTeX is stable for production, uh?) [NTG-context] acroread and reload a PDF
I am on DebianGNU/Linux using acroread. Anytime I make a change to some Context source and compile it into PDF I want to view the result i.e. reload the already opened PDF. Same as with Firefox/Iceweasel and some HTML page I work on i.e. hitting C-R reloads the page for viewing. With xpdf I just hit R and the file (which changed on the disk) gets reloaded. Am I right that acroread lacks a reload feature? [NTG-context] some more graphictext
Hi,
graphictext still doesn't work as expected. I get a correct pdf with
mkiv; with mkii the '1' is totally missing. Live ConTeXt currently fails
in both cases (luatex 0.25.2 there).
I have even some more problems with the desired font (Arial, T1), as
mkiv creates a broken pdf here (mtxrun is aborted, when calling
pstoedit). Looks like a different problem, but one step after the other.

Your beginners manual is very old and you should better take the one from
the pragma side where you can get the right name for command which is
\definebodyfont but what you're looking for is \setupbodyfontenvironment.
