I figured it out.

 Added the following definitions:

   \definetextmodediscretionary {} {\hyphenliketextmodediscretionary{–}{–}}
   \definetextmodediscretionary - {\hyphenliketextmodediscretionary{-}{-}}

And these ones:

   \setuplanguage
 [en]
 [leftsentence={\allowbreak—},
  rightsentence={—\allowbreak}]

Now it's all peachy :-)

I guess the question is whether or not you are happy with being
able to order from the Amazon store alone. Here is a (i think)
useful comparison chart (by iReX, a competitor):

I saw a presentation form iRex yesterday, and got to hold a few of their
projects. Pretty neat, the latest ones even have 3G connectivity (US only for
now, they're working on covering Europe as well).

What's particularly cool about their readers is that they run on Linux and
allow customization and installing / developing of applications.

They're a bit different. If you need the screensize, the Kindle DX is
the only real choice (and does support .pdfs) until the PRS-900 comes
out (and it has a different screen proportion which IMO isn't going to
be as serviceable as the Kindle DX's).

I have a Sony PRS-505 which has the same size as the Sony PRS-600, and
while it's workable for re-flowable text, and quite nice for text
which have been especially formatted for its screen size (excellent
example here: http://people.umass.edu/klement/russell-imp.html ), for
any technical material w/ charts or figures which one wants to refer
to along w/ the matching text, it's sub-optimal.

They're both great units and the main reason I chose the PRS-505 over
a 1st generation Kindle is that the latter wouldn't fit in my (rather
large) shirt pockets.

[NTG-context] titlepage without page number

2009-10-08 Thread Arno Trautmann
Hi!

I guess this is a faq, but I didn’t find a way to do it …
I want to use pagenumbers in the headings, but no pagenumber on the
title page. I try it with:

\setupheadertexts[]
\setupheadertexts[\setups{header
left}][pagenumber][pagenumber][\setups{header right}]
\setupfooter[][]

\startsetups[header right]
  \hfill
  \getmarking[chapter]
\stopsetups

\startsetups[header left]
  \getmarking[section]
  \hfill
\stopsetups

which gives me the headers I want. (Although I don’t understand why I
have to specify the pagenumber two times) But on the titlepage, there is
still a number, when I use it with the title module and say:

\setuptitle[
  page=no,
  title=…,
  header=empty,
  footer=empty
]

\startfrontmatter
\placetitle
\stopfrontmatter

I guess, I’m doing somthing wrong, but I cannot figure out what. And
btw: Is there a possibility to just print the pagenumber?

Hope I made the problem clear,
cheers
Arno

hi folks,

assuming x.pdf has more than 1 page, this only inserts the first. i'd
like to insert all the pages. how would i do that?

startTEXpage
\externalfigure[x.pdf]
\stopTEXpage

\externalfigure[x.pdf][page=1-2]

doesn't work either.  I have to do;

\startTEXpage
\externalfigure[x.pdf][page=1]
\stopTEXpage

\startTEXpage

I'm using

$ pdftex --version

and whatever comes with texlive 2008.

Another thing to document, I already forgot who it works.

\setupletterstyle
 [option]
 [backaddress=yes]

This setting is not necessary because most elements are enable by
default,

you could also drop the first bracket pair for global parameters.

\setupletterstyle
 [backaddress]
 [bottomframe=on]

\setupletterstyle
  [backaddress]
  [alternative=yes, % default: no
   bottomframe=on]

For alternative you can select between:

- no : no content for the backaddress
- yes : use 'fromname' and 'fromaddress'
- auto : check if there is text in the 'backaddress' key, if not then
use 'fromname' and 'fromaddress'

The separator between each element in the backaddress can be changed
with

  \setupletterstyle
[backaddress]
[separator=...]

the default value is ', ' (comma + space).

without success.
