[NTG-context] redefine word Figure for a specific language
Hi all, this is my first post here, and only because I couldn't find an answer in the database. I am using ConTeXt for an italian document (I used LaTeX years ago for my thesis and I like ConTeXt much better!) I would like to redefine the word used in figure captions. The default english is Figure. If I switch to \mainlanguage[it] the word becomes Fig. How can I arbitrarily decide what to show there? thanks for the attention, Fabio ___ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net archive : http://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ___
[NTG-context] Small bug in Italian hyphenation
I'm using ConTeXt Mk IV and I've found a small problem with the Italian hyphenation. Sequences like dell'impossibile are hyphenated dell'im-pos-si-bi-le instead of the correct del-l'im-pos-si-bi-le (i.e. the first hyphen is omitted, which is sometimes annoying). In the list it.comp.software.tex I was told to add \lccode`\'=`\' in my text: in fact, it works perfectly, but I suppose there is something to be corrected in the ConTeXt files. Could someone tell me which file and how? Thank you very much in advance. -- Giovanni Salmeri http://mondodomani.org/pers/salmeri/ ___ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net archive : http://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ___
Re: [NTG-context] redefine word Figure for a specific language
Hi Fabio, You can add for instance, at the top of your setups: \mainlanguage[it] \setuplabeltext[it][figure=Foto ] Or whatever other words than « Foto » you may wish (beware: there should be a space after « Foto »). The command \setuplabeltext can be used also when translating other words like chapter, section, table, etc. Best regards: OK On 1 mai 2010, at 18:23, Fabio Tiriticco wrote: Hi all, this is my first post here, and only because I couldn't find an answer in the database. Re: [NTG-context] 3D annotations
Hi Michail, I read your email (17 april 2010) on the mailing list and applied the two patches to my Context minimal distro (the very latest version). When I run your test.tex through context the preview image test.png is not shown. Which version of ConText should I use to make it work Thanks in advance ___ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net archive : http://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ___
[NTG-context] sort-lan.lua nitpicks and sorting
Hi again, 1. In sort-lan.lua, line 101 should read «['r'] = r», and line 144 «['r'] = 26, -- r». 2. Although I read the disclaimer about said file being “preliminary and incomplete” -- is there some rationale behind the range of integers for each language mapping? The mapping for English goes from 1 to 51, interleaving 2 integers for each letter (which is odd because it should start from index 3 with “a”, shouldn't it?), while the Czech one goes from 1 to 40 without skipping, Finnish and Austrian from 1 to 58. What about mapping them onto a larger but common scale that would alleviate multilingual sorting so that the alphabetical representation of the phoneme /a/ maps to the same value over different languages?† E.g. [a] = 3, -- in a Latin mapping, [α] = 3, -- in Greek mapping, [а] = 3, -- in a Russian mapping. 3. Is it intended that the digraph “ch” resolves (temporarily) to http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/ff01/index.htm according to line 72? Feel free to state more general opinions on the sorting topic as I am playing with different ways of sorting my bibliography. I will be glad about any advice, Philipp † I know this is impractical for many writing systems and even within the set of Latin or Greek based alphabets it largely depends on a given purpose how much precision you need in sorting. -- () ascii ribbon campaign - against html e-mail /\ www.asciiribbon.org - against proprietary attachments pgpMMTxusKfc8.pgp Description: PGP signature ___ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net archive : http://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ___
[NTG-context] tooltips and glossary
Does Context have a mechanism for placing tooltips on text? I think the usual PDF way is to put an invisible button over the test and set its short description. Does anyone know how to do this? Also, is there no Context method to produce a glossary? It might be enough to produce a secondary .bib file with special entries and to print this out as a secondary References section, but I don't know how to do this or how to control the appearance of the printed references. ___ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net archive : http://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ___
