[NTG-context] Interactive documents
Hi My name is Manuel Gonzalez and I am a teacher of Classical Greek at the University of Oviedo (Spain). So far I've been using LaTeX but recently I have discovered the extraordinary possibilities of ConTeXt. However, I have continuously problems which I solved as I can (I'm a complete newbie and I do not know the details of programming languages). Well, theproblem is the following: I want to make an interactive document and I copy the code that appears in Context an excursion, page 65, but did not appear in the final document navigation tools, such as EXIT, STOP, etc.. What could be the cause? Thanks very much and I apologize for my bad English. [NTG-context] misprint in wiki
In the wiki under \setupexternalfigures one finds for the framing of the figure following in the table: frames on off Mark the 's' at the end of 'frames' I tested it and found it has to be 'frame' without the 's'. This is the same misprint as occurred in the earlier ConTeXt manual of 2001. Perhaps someone knowledageable about changing the wiki can verify this and will be so kind as to update the wiki. I am right the setupcaptions should work with combined fontsettings, or is it my mistake? You misunderstand how named styles work. When you have style key (can be style, textstyle etc.) for a command you can write “style=\bf” and use the font switch as argument. Another way to set the font is to use a name, e.g. “style=bold”. The argument in this case is a identifier which is defined as \definealternativestyle [\v!bold] [\bf] [] As you can see “bold” is only a synonym for \bf (with the third argument you can specify what should happen when a command when the identifier is used in a heading, see below for a example. \definehead[HeadA][section][style=bold] \definehead[HeadB][section][style=italic] \starttext \HeadA{normal \style[style=italic]{italic} normal \style[style=bold]{bold} normal \style[style=\it]{it} normal \style[style=\bf]{bf} normal} normal \style[style=italic]{italic} normal \style[style=bold]{bold} normal \style[style=\it]{it} normal \style[style=\bf]{bf} normal \HeadB{normal \style[style=italic]{italic} normal \style[style=bold]{bold} normal \style[style=\it]{it} normal \style[style=\bf]{bf} normal} normal \style[style=italic]{italic} normal \style[style=bold]{bold} normal \style[style=\it]{it} normal \style[style=\bf]{bf} normal \stoptext Having a list as argument for the style key is interesting and you have my vote for this but it would be more complex and slower than the current mechanism. Re: [NTG-context] seeindex: accents and such
Hi Wolfgang, Thanks. That's truly an option. I have already looked into this and it works. As a matter of fact, this is what I decided to do if there is no quick fix. However, I thought I'd point it out, since it works for \index and just not for \seeindex. Secondly, the \sc (command) issue persists. Thirdly, once upon a time I have opened my tex files on a foreign machine and I realized that all accents were screwed. This was the day when I decided to become even more paranoid and by that not to use ü and friends in my source files. Maybe I should stop being paranoid, since all people around me seem to be using accents...
