Re: [NTG-context] MetaPost Function Grapher

2013-02-23 Thread Jaroslav Hajtmar

Hello Troy.
Thank you very much for the link. It looks very nice and I'm sure that I
will throw into teaching (I teach mathematics at the high school). I'm
doing these things through Tikz and Pgfplots. Metapost unfortunately I
don't control.
Is it possible allowing export to Tikz or Pgfplots? If I would had the
opportunity to also download the source Tikz or Pgfplots, it would be
absolutely amazing.
My point is that I can post the graphs still adapt, modify, describe,
and create animations from those exported sources.

Anyway, it's very hilarious application and I provide the link my
students for their study purposes.

Kind regards.

The MetaPost output from my Function Grapher

http://www.tlhiv.org/mpgraph/

is now available in ConTeXt format. This can be illustrated by
choosing a graph type and selecting an example from one of the Example
buttons. Once the graph is drawn, the ConTeXt source can be
downloaded using the Download drop-down box. Simply executing
`context mpgraph.tex` should produce the same graph viewed on the
website in PDF. If you see any bugs, feel free to let me know.

[NTG-context] Itemization and [continue] parameter

2013-02-23 Thread Sergey
Dear all,

While trying to continue itemized list as follows:

 \starttext

\startitemize[1,unpacked]

\item First item

\startitemize[a,unpacked]

\item First sub-item

\item Second sub-item

\stopitemize

\item Second item

\startitemize[continue]

\item Third sub-item

\item Fourth sub-item

\stopitemize

\stopitemize

\stoptext

What I get is the following:

* First item
   a. First sub-item
   b. Second sub-item
* Second item
   a. Third sub-item
   b. Fourth sub-item

While I was expecting to receive:

* First item
   a. First sub-item
   b. Second sub-item
* Second item
   c. Third sub-item
   d. Fourth sub-item

I use FreeBSD 9.1 and the output of context --version is:

mtx-context | ConTeXt Process Management 0.60
mtx-context |
mtx-context | main context file:
/usr/local/context/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/context.mkiv
mtx-context | current version: 2013.02.18 15:46

Is there something I do wrong?
Please advise

Unfortunately, I don't know TikZ or PGF, so not only would I have to learn
these, but I would also have to rewrite the code to include this output.
This is not a small feat. I do not currently have plans for this.

[NTG-context] python embedded in ConTeXt

2013-02-23 Thread Xan

Hi,

I just want to know if there is a equal thing like python.sty [1],
sympytex [2] or sagetex [3] for embed python, sympy and sage into
ConTeXt documents as there exist for latex. Yeah, I know I could write a
script and run python externally to ConTeXt but this were easier to use.

Thanks in advance,
Xan.

Just speculating: is it possible that the glyph is being searched for

Have a look at Aditya's filter module, that can call arbitrary external

can handle that. Don’t know about a suitable combination.

[NTG-context] setcalligraphicfont with simplefonts

The following example (modified from

however gives me an error:

[NTG-context] footnotes and columns

2013-02-23 Thread Meer, H. van der
It appears that footnotes and columns are not friends of each other.
Setting \setupfootnotes[location=columns] does not place the footnotes in the
columns but still at the bottom of the page. Furthermore the
\startcolumns..\stopcolumns sequence seems to have an adverse effect on the
textheight, because the footnotes can be seen to sometimes intrude in the
textarea (or vice versa of course).
Changing the footnote setup to location = page, firstcolumn, lastcolumn,
nothing different seen.
Is this a known problem.

I am refraining for the moment of a simple demo, because that is always
difficult to achieve with this sort of placement problems.

Hi,

So I've just figured it out finally from
http://www.twardoch.com/download/typotechnica2005_zapfino.pdf, that I
can achieve this via the ss01-ss10 font features as well as with
calt=yes respectively.

The MWE:
\usemodule[simplefonts]
\definefontfeature[default][default][ss02=yes] % calt=yes
\setmainfont[zapfinoextraltpro]
\starttext

Attached is a proof of concept implementation for sympy. All the three
python packages that you mentioned include a corresponding python script
that does a lot of book-keeping. So, getting the full functionality of all
these packages will require adapting those python script to generate
results in ConTeXt syntax rather than in LaTeX syntax.
