[NTG-context] Update error

2009-03-24 Thread Fengnan
Hi all,

I believe I encountered the same problem I reported a few days ago. This time
during my update process, it pops up a error box which says "unable to locate
kpathsea357-dev.dll, so the program cannot be started" (here the program is
texlua.exe while it was pdftex.exe last time).

[NTG-context] pdftex error

2009-03-08 Thread Fengnan
When I updated my context minimal earlier today, at the end of the update
process, the cmd window pops up a error message box which says "Unable to find
kpathsea357-dev.dll, so this program cannot be started" ( I translate from
Chinese). Just pure guess, did Mojca forget to put the file in the right place?

Hi, all

Can I roll back and use the old version when context isn't broken? I have
several documents which need to be processed ASAP. Thanks.

Re: [NTG-context] ntg-context Digest, Vol 54, Issue 69

2008-12-22 Thread Fengnan Gao

Does it behave any differently if you try to replace the luatex binary
inside tex/texmf-mswin/bin with the extracted luatex from
<http://foundry.supelec.fr/frs/download.php/707/luatex-beta-0.31.2-win32-mingw.zip>?

Mojca (with zero ideas left)

Nope, Mojca, not working too.

Just one more question: why I cannot receive emails from the mail-list, what
I get only is the digest?

Re: [NTG-context] Serious bug?

2008-12-22 Thread Fengnan Gao

I'm clueless then. If version mismatch doesn't explain it and if there
are no error messages, then I'm running out of ideas.

What happens if you run first-setup.bat again, delete the contents of
D:/context/tex/texmf-cache, open cmd, go to the folder with your
document, and then type:

D:/context/tex/setuptex
luatools --generate
context --make
context test.tex

Mojca

Sorry Mojca, it's not working.

Definitely not.

What version of LuaTeX is in Windows distribution? Maybe I forgot to
update it. I'll check tomorrow (you can try to fetch the version from
W32TeX).

Hi, maybe this is a windows specific problem.
I just upgrade my context but I cannot reproduce your problem.
some user also report
\usetypescriptfile[zhfonts]\usetypescript[myfont]\setupbodyfont[myfont,rm,12pt]
is not working on windows in a local forum here.

I am running Mac and FreeBSD and minimals on both systems work fine.

Matter of fact, I have the same problem (\usetypescriptfile not working),
thus I
did some test my test and eventually found that even the simplest helloworld
wouldn't

work.

This is the log file. It's very small in size, so I don't thinks I should use
some net storage service to upload it. Just see the attachment please. And I
also attached the output pdf of the last helloworld test file.

Well, actually Yue Wang was right about my problem, it's the bug that Hans
fixed a few days ago caused my problem, and now after update my Minimal, the
original code works quite well. But any ways thanks for your reply, I would
check your code if any other problem pops up.

BTW, thanks, Yue Wang.

[NTG-context] How to use Minion Pro

2008-12-02 Thread Fengnan Gao
Hi all,

I'm learning how to use ConTeXt recently, and I find difficulty using Minion
Pro, which can be fully accessed using XeTeX. Here is how I use Minion Pro,
and as far as I can see, there is no problem with the setup.

\starttypescript[all][myfont][name]
\definefontsynonym[Minion][MinionPro-Regular]
\definefontsynonym[MinionBold][MinionPro-Bold]
\definefontsynonym[MinionItalic][MinionPro-It]

   frac=yes, onum=yes, kern=yes, liga=yes,
dlig=yes, smcp=yes,

\definefontfeature[myriad][language=dflt, script=latn, mode=node,
   frac=yes, onum=yes, kern=yes, liga=yes, zero=yes,
   protrusion=quality, expansion=quality]

\starttypescript[serif][myfont][name]
\definefontsynonym[Serif][Minion][features=minion]
\definefontsynonym[SerifBold][MinionBold][features=minion]
\definefontsynonym[SerifItalic][MinionItalic][features=minion]
\definefontsynonym[SerifBoldItalic][MinionBoldItalic][features=minion]
\definefontsynonym[SerifSlanted][MinionItalic][features=minion]
\definefontsynonym[SerifBoldSlanted][MinionBoldItalic][features=minion]

\starttypescript[sans][myfont][name]
\definefontsynonym[Sans][Myriad][features=myriad]
\definefontsynonym[SansBold][MyriadBold][features=myriad]
\definefontsynonym[SansItalic][MyriadItalic][features=myriad]
\definefontsynonym[SansBoldItalic][MyriadBoldItalic][features=myriad]
\definefontsynonym[SansSlanted][MyriadItalic][features=myriad]
\definefontsynonym[SansBoldSlanted][MyriadBoldItalic][features=myriad]

\definetypeface [myfont] [rm] [serif] [myfont] [default]
\definetypeface [myfont] [ss] [sans] [myfont] [default]
\usetypescript[myfont]

And I found there problems with the font.

1). Even though I tried to access the otf features (as you can see in my
code), but I cannot access that (but I have successfully accessed the Minion
Pro font)

2). I cannot use ``--'' to produce an *endash*.

3). I cannot use *``* to produce an leftquote and *''* an right quote.

Can someone help me?

Thanks.

I don't exactly know what that means but clearly I
