You will probably need CSS styling. Maybe you can use one of the popular CSS reset or normalize stylesheets available. I haven't tested, but http://necolas.github.io/normalize.css/ is pretty popular.
Beware, a lot of EPUB rendering engines are crap, and there is not a lot of conformity throughout various products.
