OT: ISP with worldwide access points
Sorry for the off-topic post, but I've been asked by the head of our finance dept to arrange for Internet access for him as he travels abroad for 2 months this winter. He needs to keep in contact with the office via our VPN link. I'm looking for an Internet Service Provider he would be able to access with a local phone call in Asia, most specifically Southeast Asia. Does anyone know of any? Thanks, Horst Want to unsub? RE: SirC32 lots of them viruses found
You can set which files to scan, I've set mine to scan for all file types. My problem is that inoculam stops working all the time on my server and I need to reboot the server to make it work again... what a pain in the but this software is. -Original Message- From: Geoff Waycik [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, September 17, 2001 9:12 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: SirC32 lots of them viruses found I had several servers with the same problem using Inoculan for Exchange Server. The problem was that only certain file types are scanned (.exe, .com, .bat, etc. . .) and on my servers .lnk and .pif were not scanned, two file type of which Sircam tries to send viruses as. -Original Message- From: Said Samman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, September 17, 2001 11:22 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: SirC32 lots of them viruses found I'm getting Lots of SirC32.exe viruses found on win98 and W2K stations File Path: C:\RECYCLED\SirC32.exe Also many of those .tmp infected files on my Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition Server installed on NT4 SP6a File Path: C:\WINNT\Temp\APQ115.tmp File Path: C:\WINNT\Temp\APQ75.tmp File Path: C:\WINNT\Temp\APQ17E.tmp I looked everywhere and can't find any particular reason for repeated infections My mail server is protected by a mail scanner Did anybody see this before. Title: Message Yes, you should be able to just swap it out. -Original Message-From: Martin Blackstone [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]Sent: Monday, September 17, 2001 1:25 PMTo: NT System Admin IssuesSubject: Compaq Hot Swap I have a drive in one of my Proliants that has the SMART warning. I have a replacement drive from them to swap in. This is a RAID5 drive on a SmartArray controller. I should just be able to pull the drive straight out and shove the new on in right? Sorry for the dumb question. I just haven't worked with Compaq in a couple of years. I know with my IBM's I could. RE: FW: NewYork Terrorist Attack
OK, I don't want to get into a huge debate or anything, but if I remember my history correctly, America was sitting out WWII until Pearl Harbour. Sure they provided equipment to the British, but Europe was on it's own until someone hit the US and THEIR security was threatened. So in effect, America was fighting for itself as well. -Original Message- From: Jay Woody [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, September 12, 2001 8:01 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Re: FW: NewYork Terrorist Attack We all won the war... The Allies. Their decendants. Those of us here. We all lost people in WWII. The point being here that until America entered into the fray, it was not boding well for ALL of Europe. Numerous countries were defeated and had already surrendered. Yes, we all won the war, but we all weren't responsible for that win as many of the teams had already left the playing field. And it obviously wasn't going well before America got involved. This goes back to the point that America does care about it's neighbors. We all won the war... seems a little flippant and not in understanding with what was going on at the time. I can tell you that we WEREN'T all winning the war until America came over and gave it's kids for foreign soil. Europeans were fighting to protect themselves. Americans were fighting for Europeans, our neighbors. To now say that we wouldn't care if this (the terrorist attack) had happened anywhere in the world is just silly. http://www.sunbelt-software.com/ntsysadmin_list_charter.htm
policies default home page, again.
I asked the question yesterday on how to change the default home page via system policy files for Internet Explorer yesterday. Just as someone else pointed it out, I found the .adm files for the IEAK. Now, I must be absolutely blind or maybe it is just because it is Friday BUT while I can see where to disable the changing of the home page, I can't find where I can actually enter the default home page in the policy editor. I know I've done it before, but I had lost all my .adm files. Now the policy that gets loaded still has the default webpage as I set it before, but I can't change it. Can someone send me an .adm file that will change the default home page, or let me know where I can find one? I've even opened the IEAK .adm files with notepad, and while I'm not familiar with how they are created, I do a search for home and it doesn't show anything that looks like it could be a setting for default home page. RE: Internet Explorer Policy Template...
I've got the template files from the IEAK and loaded them into my policy editor, but I can't seem to find where to change the default home page. Maybe I'll look again tomorrow.. brain dead this late in the afternoon. I'm looking for a policy template that will allow me to change the default home page on Internet Explorer through the policy editor. I had a template at one point that did this, but I lost it (long story), and now can't seem to find one anywhere. Anyone got one?
