RE: Follow-on from thread about distributing Adobe Update

2010-01-13 Thread Smith, Mike
If you select the file in windows explorer, and right click, select properties,
under the general tab, is there an 'Unblock' button

I have come across this problem a number of times where the OS reports the file
is not available, or I don't have permission.

Subject: Follow-on from thread about distributing Adobe Update

I'm trying to install the latest Adobe Reader via Group Policy onto my XP
desktops and, unusually, it is failing. I get the error:-

The install of application Adobe Reader 9.3 from policy
S_AdobeReader93_CitrixServersXenServersVDIWorkstationsICTWorkstations_0 failed.
The error was : The installation source for this product is not available.
Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

I can browse to the files which are in the netlogon share on my DCs, but when I
try to execute the setup.exe or the .msi, I get the error as above. This
happens on the old packages for 9.1 and 9.2 as well which worked fine. It's not
a permissions issue, which is about the only thing I can find searching the
net. Clearly something has changed on my DCs which has screwed this. If I copy
the package locally to the machine, it executes without issue.

I have recently upgraded all my DCs to 2008 R2 and raised the forest and domain
functional levels - could this have anything to with it? Or is it something
different?

TIA,

JRR

Hi all,

I've problems checking this site www.nbad.com (National Bank of Abu
Dhabi) using our ISA server.

I'm still using ISA 2004. The box has also AVast of ISA and Websense on
it but I confirmed its neither of those two.

Now I'm suspecting maybe some issue in their website code and our ISA
server.

If you have ISA pls see if you can access this site.

thanks

Osama Salah

RE: exponential-e in the UK

2008-02-01 Thread Smith, Mike
Have been using them for a little over 4 years

Very responsive, good service, very satisfied, we just have a 10 meg
connection on which we have delivered a 3 meg service, although it
seems to run much quicker than 3 meg so I think they give us more
bandwidth if available, throttling down to 3 meg if necessary.

Don't know if their price is competitive today, it was when I first went
with them. Staying with them because they are one of the few suppliers
with who I have complete satisfaction

My network support guys liked the service so much that they have become
a reseller for exponential and again seem satisfied with the product
the company

I don't know if their service may vary across the country - my office is
close to Heathrow exponential have some fairly major links in the city
out to the west of London. So we are not far from one of their major
arterial routes.

If you have any more questions about them let me know

Hi all, anyone had any dealings with a company in the UK called
Exponential-e? Got an advert in the post for their PowerNGN 100 internet
connection (100 MB) and want to get a feel if anyone has had any bad
experiences.

Many thanks for any replies.
