That's kind of what I mean. I don't use the program or know anything about it. I just have to install it for a user on a new machine and "make sure all the settings transfer over" from the old machine. Where do those files live? Anything else I need to worry about? RE: NewYork Terrorist Attack
Title: RE: NewYork Terrorist Attack a viable point but "those who did this" must be held accountable... you can not do something without some reaction or consequence, if "those who did this" choose to hide in a village or town then those villagers and townspeople should make the call, either of acceptance or denial. i know if "those who did this" came to me, i'd turn them in... it's wrong, plain and simple. so if that village/town harbors these murders then they are just as guilty... all my opinion of course ===Lerone StreeterSystem AnalystAbbott LBG[EMAIL PROTECTED]=== -Original Message-From: Phillips, Glen [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]Sent: Tuesday, September 11, 2001 12:28 PMTo: NT System Admin IssuesSubject: RE: NewYork Terrorist Attack While those who did this (and weren't on the planes) must get what they deserve, does flattening a whole town or village to get just one of them make the US any better than them? -Original Message-From: Banyas, Pat F. RE: Oracle just Dies on NT 4 sp6a
what do the oracle logs say? the oracle dba should be able to tell you when it stopped and why... mayhap there is something he doesn't want to face... i had to scrap our NT/oracle box... i know there are some lurkers out there who might be able to give you more detail... and i also know there are lots of trace/audits you can enable. ask the dba what he can do to monitor the db and instance to help in determining a cause. === Lerone Streeter System Analyst Abbott LBG [EMAIL PROTECTED] === -Original Message- From: Doug Lott [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2001 11:26 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Oracle just Dies on NT 4 sp6a We have eight NT4 sp6a servers running Oracle where Oracle just dies. That is Tivoli reports the srvice for Oracle is stopped. When checked it is stoppped and there are no errors in any eventlog nor in any Oracle logs. The Oracle DBA and myself are stumped. We cannot find any errors or records of any recent changes to the systems. These problems were noticed about In the past three months or so ago. Four serveres are running Oracle 7.3.4 and the other four are running Oracle 8.1.6. Each week at least one of them drops out (the Oracle service that is). A server may run for a month or two before the Oracle service stops. Some servers are in Dallas and some are in NY. All have a similare frequency of failure and it happens at various times of day. Has anyone experienced this? Or have any ideas where we can start looking or what we can monitor? Technet and Oracle knowledge bases do not seem to record any thing similar. All the domain administrators have lost the capability of using usrmgr.exe and srvmgr.exe! They come up, but any attempt to make changes gets ACCESS DENIED. All accounts are still domain admins, and all rights remain unchanged. Checked for viruses and resynched, but no change. We are running Novell Account manager in parallel, but nothing has changed with it either, although I am most suspicious of this as the cause, but I need to cover all the bases. The reason I ask is one of the other network guys and myself have put in about 40 hours over time this month and we receive nothing for it. Just wondering what policies are set up at other companies to compensate for over time. We consistently work about 8-12 hours over a month and we get no time off or anything for this.
