Yeah...if you're still having to develop your own methods for deploying
patches, that's money that can be invested into a good systems management
technology.

If you just want patching, Shavlik has a good solution that covers more than
just Microsoft updates.  However, with any good management system, you can
easily push all updates out across the company.

Customers using ConfigMgr 2007 were able to test and deploy the recent
critical patch to thousands of computers in 6 hours or less.   Some took
longer, some were shorter, but the ability to secure the environment within
a critical time frame is invaluable.

Best way is a desktop management system. We use LANDesk Management
Suite. It works great for us.

security patches.
How are youguys doing it?

My current plan is to write a  script, and email it out to all our
companies. Put some logging in the script so I can do an audit in a few
days.

Luckily VMWare Update Manager patches Adobe as well as MS stuff. Can you not
do it via GPO?

Failing that I'd psexec them in a logon script.
