Could be something in IE security zones has gotten changed/messed up. You could try using the reset button and then gpupdate to re-apply any policies you use (or reconfigure manually). I also don't have trouble doing this on my x64 Win7 machine, but our local (internal) domain name is part of our trusted sites zone (by policy) and we map the drives using DNS names.
