I have looked at Altiris web site, and I cant find anything that would do the job. What I am currently thinking of is Ultraba UBDR Gold, Allows image backup and restore to different hardware. I would prefer starting the new server from fresh install but not sure how to move the other apps, Sharepoint would be fine and easy, but the other apps would be an issue. Is there a Dell equivelant to the HP Server Migration Pack
Hi, One of our customers is a Dell shop, and they implemented a WSS 3 setup on 6 year old hardware as a test bed, with SQL server and WSS on the same box, they have also added goldmine and heat to the SQL server on this box. Now that Sharepoint is a business important app they have sourced a Poweredge 2950 and want to move everything over to it. My company is an HP reseller and we have done similar time and again using the HP Server migration Pack, but this only supports moving to Proliants. I can't think of the name of it, but I think Dell does have something... And they license a lot of stuff from Altiris, so it might be related to them, perhaps helping your search.
