Re: OT-ish large quantity LCD monitor recommendation

2010-05-10 Thread Kevin Lundy
We have about 1500 Ultrasharps. I think we have had about 20 need
replacement, so just a tad over 1%. I believe most of them were power
supplies.

RE: OT-ish large quantity LCD monitor recommendation

2010-05-09 Thread greg.sweers
I have been buying strictly Dell for over 5 years. The Ultrasharp line
is rock solid, high quality and great picture. I don't know of a single
replacement I have ever had to do for an Ultrasharp. Some of their
lower lines E series, Planar, BenQ, ACER (Big time) I have had to do
lots of replacements, DOA's, bad pixels, etc. Once I get a customer to
standardize on the Ultrasharp they never consider another one.

The shop I work for parttime is strictly a Dell shop, and they just
never have any problems with their Dell units. They're now ordering the
wide 22-inch units, I think those are ultrasharp as you
mention. The reliability and standardization on an enterprise basis
makes it a no-brainer for me, I'd stick with Dell.

I'd like some recommendations as to where to turn, or if I should just
stick with Dell for their monitors. If you buy significant quantities of
monitors (10 at a time or more), please share your experiences,
particularly if you've ever used any of the Dell Ultrasharp.
