moves adds and changes are a snap,
no wiring back to the pbx for voice,
everyone keeps their phone,
You can do calls from your pc (with the correct h/w and s/w) some users
can even move themselves.
If you're doing new facilities installation, one set of wires for each
user.

Can save a mint on international long distance.
phone roaming from site to site.
sometimes installing will save you money, and you get data connectivity
free. once the infrastructure for VOIP is in, video is easy(er).

with Domestic long distance prices going down, has made VOIP not as cost
effective, and longer payback, especially considering you need support,
etc.

may require rewiring cat 5, switches, infrastructure, etc.

I have heard of large companies setting up a standard config, gateway
server, and rolling it out across the country. of course this may have
been a dream of the marketing groups at Cisco Networkers.

We've done 2 analysis, and havn't found a place where it's cost
effective. When I build a building, it'll have VOIP from the start.

it makes sense, if you have the resources to support it.

I'm not sure, but the URL could be www.cisco.com/avvid

Not me. But I just visited Cisco and looked at their IP Phones. They
are hot, hot, hot. If you get a chance, look at them.
