RE: To Unlock IISLock

2001-09-27 Thread John Benson

Hi Adil - I suggest you go to the Properties dialog on for web site - go to the
"Home Directory" tab and be sure that "Script source access" is checked.
Without that, asp won't run.

RE: To Unlock IISLock

2001-09-26 Thread Adil Hindistan

Ugh, the settings are OK! I checked it against the other server on which I
also used IISLock and have no problem with .asp

Does anyone know what IISLock actually does ? I can see that it creates two
users _WebUser and _WebApp and then denies write access to these users for
all pages. It also adds some values to ACL of some applications like
CMD.EXE. Selectively it removes sample apps /MSADC /Scripts etc virtual
directories...

But does it change anything in registry for example ? What does it do when I
select disable .asp ? Does anyone know ?

RE: To Unlock IISLock

2001-09-26 Thread Adil Hindistan

Well, I guess I know why do you ask that. I have two IIS 5 servers. Both of
them have the .asp extension associated to Notepad. You may say that's why
.asp is not working but no!

If you are opening an .asp page with windows explorer, yes Notepad will open
it. But if you are accessing the page using Internet Explorer, notepad is
not employed. Instead, IIS will send the page to asp.dll for processing.

Any other idea ?
