RE: Websense question
Thanks for the response Jim. We haven’t implemented the Watchguards yet. This Websense thing is a “gotcha” that I just thought about a few days ago, and need to research. If I understand what you’re saying, I’m not going to be able to use Websense anymore, if I put in Watchguard firewalls? That may end up putting the kibosh on ordering that brand of firewall after all. I don’t think the management is going to want to get rid of Websense. Chris, Websense likes processing power; the more the better. :) Candee -Original Message- From: Chris Bodnar [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, August 15, 2001 9:30 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Websense question Is anyone running Websence in conjunction with MS Proxy 2.0 on a low end machine? Re: Websense question
Ran it through proxy for awhile but found better performance using a pix... By the way, the box wasn't much to bragg about either, its ok as long as you do not try to run the log server on the same box... - Original Message - From: Chris Bodnar [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: NT System Admin Issues [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, August 15, 2001 8:30 AM Subject: Websense question Is anyone running Websence in conjunction with MS Proxy 2.0 on a low end machine? RE: Websense question
Actually, Websense, because it loads its table in memory, likes RAM. We are running a dedicated NT 4.0 Websense box with 256MB RAM for about 100 PCs. If you want to add other application (like Proxy), I would suggest 512MB. Its rather unforgiving (Websense). -Original Message- From: Chris Bodnar [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, August 15, 2001 9:30 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Websense question Is anyone running Websence in conjunction with MS Proxy 2.0 on a low end machine?
