Phil, the workstation product looks like it has everything I need and is
priced right.

THANKS!

Subject: Remote, scheduled, laptop imaging?

Looking for a solution that will:

Schedule COMPLETE images of a laptop to USB or other device

Will nag the user if one hasn't been completed in X amount of days

Ideally will send an email if X amount of days have passed

It has to work off-site

XP based (Will we be on 7 soon though)

I currently have a solution that backs up DATA files (MozyPro), which works
great. But it still requires spending tons of time rebuilding the machine
if it's lost/stolen/fried.

I have a few machines out there with highly complicated builds, rebuilding
them is a PITA, even with the original image. I'm thinking weekly images
will be adequate.

Any pointers?

Tia,

Sam

Definitely cost prohibitive in that type of scenario.

I used it before when managing large labs at a university. From what I recall,
it will be overkill (Scale and costs) for just a few machines… am I right?

Have you looked into Altiris? We use that here, and it's a great product IMHO.
Can schedule imaging and config jobs, along with alot of other functionality.

I’m curious -- Do they still use the “Altiris” name?

I worked for Altiris pre-Symantec, but there’s no one left from the original
team anymore.
