RE: Strange Word template issue

2008-12-31 Thread Joe Heaton
That worked fine. So now we're having the person doing the changes to
save the .doc that worked, as a template, then send that to us, to see
if we can open it. The editor is using 2k3.

Template was originally created in Word 2k3.

The template can be opened in Word 2k3.

I can't open it in Word 2k7.

If it's changed to a document instead of a template, I can open it in
Word 2k7.

There's nothing odd about the template, it's just a memo template, with
a company logo embedded, which is the only recent change to it.

Strange Word template issue

2008-06-26 Thread Joe Heaton
Hoping someone may have some ideas on this. My manager has created a
new template document, for system change requests. She has saved it as
a .dot, etc. This is not the first time she's done this type of task,
but it is the first with the following issue:

She can open it, fill in the fields, etc. and Save As...

Others can open it, fill in the fields etc. but can't Save As or plain
Save. There's just no response from Word at all, as if you had not
clicked the button. This document has been copied into another folder,
with same results. Any ideas?

Thanks,
