I only have them to keep watching TV and internet when the storms (or something else) causes outages. It is hard to watch TV when the beep is constantly going :) On the other hand, it is also hard to know when the batteries are going to fail without the beep. > > -- >Phil Stracchino >Babylon Communications >ph...@caerllewys.net >p...@co.ordinate.org >Landline: +1.603.293.8485 >Mobile: +1.603.998.6958 > > > ___ > Nut-upsuser mailing list > Nut-upsuser@alioth-lists.debian.net > https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nut-upsuser > ___ Nut-upsuser mailing list Nut-upsuser@alioth-lists.debian.net https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nut-upsuser

[Nut-upsuser] Work around for a cheap Liebert (Vertiv) PSA5
Hi, I recently bought a Liebert (Vertiv) PSA5 knowing it was incompatible with NUT, but the price was so compelling, I did it anyway. I was going to use their PowerAssist app on Linux and use SNMP to make it communicate with the devices I need to shutdown, but I did not read the release notes well enough to find out that their Linux client does not support SNMP. I refuse to buy a small windows machine to get SNMP for all of my other devices to use the UPS, so I just have a simple topology question. I already have a small APC in one of the rooms in the house and if I hook it to my QNAP NAS via USB while the power is running through the PSA5, it will still behave the way I want since the APC will tell it OB/OL and I want everything to immediately shutdown when power is out over 1 minute anyway..? Thnaks for any info and insight! -Greg ___ Nut-upsuser mailing list Nut-upsuser@alioth-lists.debian.net https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nut-upsuser

For RHEL and derivatives, you just need the rpm-build and rpmdevtools packages installed. > On April 5, 2023 6:55:14 PM CDT, Anthony Farrell > wrote: > >> The current version of nut for EL8, nut-2.8.0-3 is broken since it came >> out in December 2022. >> >> I have been waiting for an update to the RPM latest version nut-2.8.0-8 >> while having no UPS protection for my EL8 servers. >> >> The INSTALL.txt file states for Redhat that: >> >> >> >> "NUT is packaged and well maintained in these systems. >> >> The official Red Hat packager is part of the NUT Team." >> >> Is someone knowledgeable able to give me an update on where nut stands >> with regard to Redhat EL8 support at this time and when a working RPM >> install file will be available? >> >> Tony >> > -- > Sent from my Android device with K-9 Mail.
