[Nut-upsuser] NUT on Ubuntu Dapper

2006-08-24 Thread Davide Ferrari
Hi list

anyone having success with a working installation of NUT on Ubuntu Dapper from
universe repository? I installed it via apt but it doesn't seem to
work.../etc/nut is empty, I copied a working configuration from another
machine (a Gentoo box) but when I try to start the ups-monitor or nut
service, it simply dies silently. I'm using the snmp driver and, as said,
other installations on Gentoo boxes in the same environment work flawlessy.

I would like to know if it's a common problem or it's something related to my
box.

2006-08-24 Thread Jonathan Dion

Hi Davide

I have nut installed on my Ubuntu Dapper, and it works just fine
(either with usb or serial ups. Don't have tried snmp ups). So no
reason it shouldn't work wit you too ^_^

Can you send us your configuration files ?

Can you try to run manually the driver in debug mode (should be in /lib/nut) :
/lib/nut/snmp-ups -DD -a upsname as declared in ups.conf
and send us back the result.

Cheer,

Jonathan Dion
