Hi Davide I have nut installed on my Ubuntu Dapper, and it works just fine (either with usb or serial ups. Don't have tried snmp ups). So no reason it shouldn't work wit you too ^_^ Can you send us your configuration files ? Can you try to run manually the driver in debug mode (should be in /lib/nut) : /lib/nut/snmp-ups -DD -a upsname as declared in ups.conf and send us back the result.
