[nysbirds-l] Breezy Point - Manx Shearwater 6/14/15
Isaac Grant and I hit up Breezy Point late this afternoon in search of seabirds after reading Doug Gochfeld's report from Wednesday. Amazingly, we were treated to a single MANX SHEARWATER about 150-200 yds off shore traveling east to west continuing past the jetty around 6pm. Despite scanning for an additional hour or so, the bird did not return. Despite a good number of 1st and 2nd Summer Common Terns, we didn't encounter any other terns of interest. -Mike Shanley Staten Island, NY -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
