2018-11-24 Thread Patricia Lindsay
Shai Mitra and I are scanning through a huge flock of Canada Geese (several

Northville Tpk. So far we have one each Richardson's, Blue Goose, White-fronted
and Barnacle, with geese still constantly arriving from the west. Oops, two

[nysbirds-l] Oiled sea birds

2018-11-24 Thread Richard Guthrie
Folks might want to keep an eye out for any oiled sea birds (ducks, loons,
gulls, etc.). There was a significant oil spill up in Newfoundland. Birds might
show up along the Long Island Coast.

[nysbirds-l] Glaucous Gull - Orchard Beach, Bronx 11/23

2018-11-24 Thread Richard Aracil
Hi All,

Late this afternoon, there was a first-cycle GLAUCOUS GULL sitting on the water
just off Orchard Beach. The bird then flew to the large, rock island offshore
from the center of the beach, where it looked like it was going to roost for
the night. The bird was still there when we left.

Good Birding!
