[nysbirds-l] ebird report of Ash-throated Flycatcher at Marine Park, Brooklyn 12.05.16
There is an e-bird report (via ebird alerts) from this morning,12/5/16, of an Ash-throated flycatcher at Marine Park in Brooklyn. Bobbi Manian is there now and briefly saw a Myiarchus flycatcher but was not able to get a good enough look to ID it before it disappeared from her view. Just putting this out there if anyone wants to go look, as the bird may still be in the area. The area that the bird was seen in can be accessed from corner of East 38th street and Avenue U. [nysbirds-l] Harlequin Duck, Dead Horse Bay, Brooklyn late Sunday (11/01/15)
Late yesterday (11/01/15) afternoon, there was a female Harlequin Duck at Dead Horse Bay in Brooklyn. It was very close to shore, near the pilings closest to the Gil Hodges Bridge. It was fairly dark when it flew off, around 5:15-5:30. It appeared to me that it may have been flying in the direction of Plumb Beach or the Marina, but I lost sight of it as it passed the point. [nysbirds-l] Brown Pelican in Bklyn
While at the Marine Park Salt Marsh today, at appx. 12:44pm, I spotted a Brown Pelican being harassed by crows; it was flying from west to east before I lost sight of it as it flew in the direction of the Marine Park Golf Course. Managed to get one really bad photo: http://picasaweb.google.com/kiskadee20/BrownPelicanMarineParkSaltMarshBklynNY# Heydi Lopes Brooklyn, NY -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES Archives: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
