[nysbirds-l] Black Tern -- Rye

2012-06-11 Thread Benjamin Van Doren
Hi All,

There was an alternate-plumaged BLACK TERN off Read Sanctuary in Rye this
morning around 10 AM. This species is rare on Long Island Sound, so it was
a real treat.

Other sightings from this past weekend include a singing HOODED WARBLER at
Burden Preserve in New Castle, where this species has been present for the
past few summers, two WORM-EATING WARBLERS at Meyer Preserve (also in New
Castle), and an AMERICAN WOODCOCK in Armonk.

Good birding,
Benjamin Van Doren
White Plains, NY
