[nysbirds-l] Black Tern and Arctic Tern at Nickerson Beach

2013-06-11 Thread Pat Palladino
Thanks to Brendan Fogarty for the tip. As of 7:00 p.m. a 1st year Arctic Tern
was seen at Nickerson Beach among a flock of Common Tern. The adult Black Tern
was also located at about 7:45 p.m. on the east side of the beach among a flock
of several hundred Common Terns. Two Roseate Terns were also present; however,
upon my arrival and meeting Brendan on the beach, I learned I was about 15
minutes too late to catch a Pomarine Jaeger.
