[nysbirds-l] Bobolinks croton point

2016-05-12 Thread Larry Trachtenberg
The bobolinks (M + F) are back on the landfill at croton point park, also had
one singing up by airplane field this morning; do not think anyone has had
grasshopper sparrow yet. The larger migrant songbirds were prevalent this am at
the Point. RB Grosbeak, scarlet tanager (odd variant plumage), both Orioles,
great crested flycatcher; also a few warblers: Nashville, Parula, BTGW,
magnolia, yellow rumped, redstart, and yellow (resident).

[nysbirds-l] Bobolinks -- Croton Point Park

2015-05-20 Thread Larry Trachtenberg
Last evening (7:15-7:45 p.m. I saw approx. 15 bobolink on main landfill at CPP.
Almost all singing males, many perched on stalks giving wonderful views; a few
females (ignoring the singing males). Also a few savannah sparrow; but did not
see either grasshopper sparrow or meadowlark.
