[nysbirds-l] East Patchogue and mastic beach
This morning I had a Turkey vulture in East Patchogue near Swan Lake and around mid day a bald eagle was moving lazily from west to east along S Country Rd. Mastic Beach late morning had a red tailed hawk flushed by a northern harrier. Another harrier was seen near WF estate. -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME.htm http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES.htm http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birding.aba.org/maillist/NY01 Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --

[nysbirds-l] East Patchogue and Bellport Village Birds
On my morning run I noticed three (3) species of swallows hawking insects over Robinsons pond (north side of S. Country Road) - Northern Rough-winged, Tree and Barn. Additionally, there was a lone Glossy Ibis on the east side of the pond mixed among several species of gulls including a few breeding plumaged Laughing Gulls. A handful of Male Goldfinches were observed as well. While running down S. Howell's Lane in Bellport I watched an American Crow snap sticks off a tree and then carry them to a nearby under-construction nest in a large pine. Mother's Beach at the end of the road was quiet with one osprey on a nest. -- - Luke Ormand Instagram: @JrookPhotos -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --

An osprey was perched on a snag overlooking the new swan river park being constructed by the Town of Brookhaven on the south side of Montauk Highway (next to friendlys). A killdeer was also utilizing the new wetlands on site. Yesterday 2 turkey vultures were flying over my yard in east patchogue as well. -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
