All, >From the beginning of Keibal rd on the west side of Whitney Point Dam Whitney >Point, NY, I found a female-type KING EIDER very close to the shore near the >beginning of the dirt road. The bird was at times maybe 15 feet away from the >shore. This is the first Broome e-bird record, and the first I am aware of for >possibly 20 years in the county. The bird was actively diving and staying in >the same vicinity for over an hour.
