[nysbirds-l] Latest Purple Martins I have seen in NY State.
Yesterday morning at 6:20 AM two flew out of the same gourd(next to the gourd they fledged out of on August 31) when they heard me on the dock. I have seen these birds coming to the colony around 7PM Saturday. The previous weeks there were as many as 5 birds going into the same gourd, which makes me think they are the birds fledged 8/31, which is the latest fledging date in my colony by two weeks.
