[nysbirds-l] Yellow-headed Blackbird info

In the interest of anyone attempting to chase the Yellow-headed Blackbird at 
Floyd Bennett Field, I thought more concise information would be helpful.

First, I did not go look for it today, but have noticed RFI and bits of news in 
various resources. That said, it appears that the bird is still present today 
in roughly the same spot. That “spot” is a fenced off, seasonal petting zoo (no 
barnyard animals there yet) in the northwest corner of Floyd Bennett Field a 
stone’s throw from the artificial turf soccer fields next to the Aviator Sports 
complex. For the latitude / longitude types out there:

40°35'32.21"N
73°53’58.60"W

Despite the bird’s brilliantly plumed head, it does manage to disappear 
occasionally, mostly just perching in the scattering of trees at that location 
for long stretches.

Hi Rob! Eric Miller and I just had the bird in the tree to east of the entrance 
gate of the petting. He was very cooperative and easy to find. I spotted him 
within 30 seconds of walking up to the entrance. He flew from the tree to the 
ring to the ground where he began to feed. What a gorgeous man!
