Re: [oi-dev] 2218 update perl512 with oracle-userland patches (actually perl512 to 5.12.4)
This has been updated. The chief difference is a patch that supports SONAME for libperl across compilers. In the interim Oracle have themselves moved to 5.12.4, so I've cross-checked my changes against theirs. The relevant perldata shows the diff to be minimal, and I believe two of the three changes would otherwise be provided by the Oracle patches: http://search.cpan.org/dist/perl-5.12.4/pod/perl5124delta.pod https://www.illumos.org/issues/2218 https://bitbucket.org/buffyg/illumos-userland-2218/compare/..buffyg/illumos-userland Since there are some pretty serious issues with perl5.10, I'd like to suggest a follow-on change to un-comment the default links and make this the default perl in OI 151, which has been done previously for illumian. Not sure if a separate package is available to manage the default links, but I believe igork had suggested something like that on developer@ at some point. If such a change has already been committed, it should have some mechanics that I'd like to use to split the defaults out of the gcc44-runtime package. ___ oi-dev mailing list oi-dev@openindiana.org http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/oi-dev

The latter's not difficult, but the development team has so much else on at the moment that we really need someone to step up for this. I've got VMware here and at work, so am happy to help providing a VMware appliance distribution. This is to allow GSOC-type work, right? Or a GSOC project all by itself? Re: [oi-dev] RFC: new meeting time Thursdays at 7PM UK time
Or I did but couldn't see until after I sent this. Well, I'd like to finalize this, so please provide feedback if this looks to be a problem. Otherwise, see you Thursday. On Sun, Mar 18, 2012 at 9:58 PM, Bayard Bell buffer.g.overf...@gmail.com wrote: Thought I had sent this previously, but seemingly not. That's UK time, which varies from UTC (or not) according to European rules. I know that's not great for people in the US or some people in the UK, particularly those who tend to leave the office late, but it's an arrangement that allows us to include people from St. Petersburg to Boston and NYC. I'm open to negotiating the time slot, but, as we have people with conflicts for Tuesdays, I'd like to hash something out to put into effect this week.
