Re: [oi-dev] [HEADSUP] X server update in OpenIndiana Hipster

I think we can look at downgrading
intel drivers to something like 2.9 (or even 2.6) which still supported
UMS until KMS work is ready. I don't know how much work it'll take to
make this crap work with new Xorg server, so no promises on time frame
for now. Until then you can use vesa.

I have a computer with Intel graphics and Hipster
20140701 installed. Xorg refuses to use intel_drv.so
and falls back on using vesa_drv.so, I understand
this is not going to improve soon.

The fall back to vesa is totally unusable because the
brigthness is forced to maximum and hurts the eyes and
the slider for brightness on "Power Management" has no
effect.

Is there another way to adjust the brightness level with
the vesa driver ?

has this been pushed to the live system already?
I have an account where after logging in, (both in 20141010 and in 2015
with old X and intel drivers),
X gets restarted, nwam-manager gives core dump and gdm is restarted to
log in again.

Bug report can have files up to 4MB and archive is bigger then this,
where do I send it?
I get "connection was reset" when trying to send a bug with file larger
then that size.

I attached ta.7z of whole that user dir to the bug report:

Hi,
I started receiving messages from oi-dev mailing list with ommited
"List-Id:" headers
(should be "List-Id: OpenIndiana Developer mailing list
")
- that makes Mail client mailing list filters not working.

Are you sure it was not merely an email sent to the list that you were
CC:'d to?
I see there was one like that sent by Jim Klimov just today.

I think it is exactly that, whenever I am also CC:ed , while message is
sent to the list,
on Gmail I do not receive filtered message to the List folder, because I
suppose Gmail deletes "bounced" messages or messages that actually the
same (or looks the same) like one ending up in Inbox.

So it is GMail's problem and I need to copy/move messages to the mailing
list folder manually if they were CC:ed to me and both sent to Mailing
list. Therefore the confusion with messages not having "List-id:"

Google Mail kills messages to mailing list if they are same as those CC:'ed.

Therefore, avoid CC'ing messages to Gmail users and send to the list
instead.

If wanting to talk directly, send same message to the person instead.
Google Mail is stupid, intrusive and against regular mail behavior.

It's better to have it's own mail address and mail server, but it needs
some resources to maintain it.
