When KDE 4.2 final is released, could you tell us whether the situation is
improved? Thanks!

Looks to me like a duplicate of http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=177360.
Can you confirm that that selecting Print / Properties / Advanced gives you a
blank advanced settings page? Or that the versions Pino lists now work for
you? If so it is the same bug.

This happens because we start an event loop for each page we render during the
loading phase (waiting for KHTML): events that come in the middle of the
loading (like events for "Ctrl+Q" for similar) get through the local event loop
and get dispatched, giving problems as this could cause the closing of the
document.

This is the problem, but not sure how to solve that. Ideas welcome.

[Okular-devel] [Bug 180445] New: Provide view option for choosing if the first page of a document is odd or even

2009-01-12 Thread Thomas Thrainer
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=180445

Summary: Provide view option for choosing if the first page of a
document is odd or even
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: okular-devel@kde.org
ReportedBy: to...@gmx.at

Version:(using KDE 4.1.3)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

I am currently writing my thesis which will be a two-sided document. Therefore,
I usually have the "Facing Pages" option enabled to get an impression of the
final page layout.

However, okular always assumes that the first page is on the left and thus an
even page (although it's clearly an odd page). So I end up having my odd pages
on the left and my even pages on the right, getting the opposite of what I
wanted.

I am aware of the "Center first page" option which can be used to work around
this issue. But I would like to have the first page displayed on the right
rather than in the centre, providing a more "book-like" view.
Also, this option is quite hidden and cumbersome to change for each document (I
also want to see one-sided documents quite often), so I would suggest to put a
"First page is odd" or "Draw first page on the right" switch into the view
menu. IMHO this toggle should not affect the "Overview" view mode at all
(unlike the "Center first page" option), because it does not provide a
book-like view.

I really like the "Trim Borders" option in the view menu in together with the
"Facing Pages" view mode. But I toggle regularly the "Trim Borders" option in
order to see the "real" document.

Therefore, I put those menu entries (Single Page, Facing Pages, Trim Borders)
on my toolbar. But as they don't have icons, they don't look very nice there.

So I would like to see icons for them, so they integrate nicely with the rest
of my toolbar buttons.

Thanks again for this awesome application, I really love it!

Hello,

I download kdegraphics-4.1.87.tar.bz2 and build it on my machine and reproduced
this crash with self-built okular. Hope this helps.
