[Okular-devel] [Bug 177213] High X server memory consumption

I can reproduce this bug using KDE 4.2.0 on gentoo amd64. I can easily make X
use over 600MiB just by scrolling for a minute or two.

Setting Memory Usage to Low seems to help it, though.

[Okular-devel] [Bug 183445] New: hidden navigation panel pops up during reload

2009-02-06 Thread jarauh
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183445

Summary: hidden navigation panel pops up during reload
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: okular-devel@kde.org
ReportedBy: jar...@hotmail.com

Version: 0.8 (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Gentoo Packages

I use okular to view pdf slides. When I change the LaTeX source of the slides
and rerun LaTeX, okular notices this and reloads the document. During reload
the thumbnail navigation panel pops up. A funny thing: This only happens when
Contents are selected on the navigation panel.

How to reproduce:

* Open some PDF-File and LaTeX-sources.
* Open navigation panel and select Contents.
* Hide navigation panel.
* Run LaTeX.
== While LaTeX recreates the PDF-File, a gray background is shown together
with a message Reloading the document. During this time an (empty) navigation
panel with headline thumbnails appears.

I don't see the problem of that.
When the document is reloaded, it is first closed and then reopened again. Then
the previously chosen panel is restored.
When a document is closed, there's no TOC available, so that panel is disabled.

Of course it is not a problem; it as merely a small bug.

The gray background is not what annoys me, but the fact, that the navigation
panel pops up, even though it should remain hidden.

Note: You need a PDF-file where LaTeX needs a lot of time in order to notice
the effect, e.g. slides with a lot of pictures.

Hi,
I've read more or less carefully all the comments ahead, would it be possible
to print separatly the annotations and then to superpose the two pdfs, using
pdf toolkit as :
pdftk over.pdf background behind.pdf output superpose.pdf

Regards

[Okular-devel] [Bug 183464] New: Print preview of postscript file is incorrect

Summary: Print preview of postscript file is incorrect

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Version: 0.8 (using KDE 4.2.0)

Installed from:Fedora RPMs

Certain postscript files produced by IDL will not print on a page (they are
shifted off of the page by quite a bit). gv is able to show this when
selecting letter instead of BBox for the view.

okular's print preview still shows the image printing on the page, even though
when sent to the printer it is shifted off of the page.

[Okular-devel] [Bug 183475] New: Thumnail sidebar looses last position on resize

2009-02-06 Thread Björn Streicher
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183475

Summary: Thumnail sidebar looses last position on resize
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: okular-devel@kde.org
ReportedBy: bs0...@gmx.net

Version: Version 0.8 Using KDE 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0) (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

When viewing a multi-page PDF in okular and scrolling in the thumbnail view to
a different page than the one viewed currently and subsequently resize the
thumbnail pane, okular forgets the page scrolled to and jumps to the one which
is shown in the main view. Expected behaviour would be to stay on the page I
have scrolled to.

Steps to reprodcue:

1. Open a multipage PDF in okular, lets say you view page 1
2. Open the thumbnail view in the sidebar
3. In the thumbnail sidebar. scroll to some page other than the one viewed in
the main view (e.g. you scroll to page 340)
4. Resize the sidebar
- thumbnail preview jumps to the page viewed in the main view (page 1)
- expected behaviour would be to stay on page 340)

[Okular-devel] [Bug 183475] Thumnail sidebar looses last position on resize

2009-02-06 Thread Björn Streicher
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183475

--- Comment #1 from Björn Streicher bs0001 gmx net 2009-02-06 20:41:26 ---
May be some additional use case information clarifies this issue:

Lets say I read a PDF book on page 340 and I'm viewing the thumbnail preview
already in a pretty large size e.g. showing the table of contents (on page 5)
of that book. Now I realize that some text in the thumbnail preview is too
small to read so I resize the thumbnail to be able to read that text - the
focus of the thumbnail preview jumps back to page 340 and I have to scroll back
to page 5.

I realize that scrolling further in the document changes the page previewed
back to the page viewed in the main view, too. May be as a sort of RFE, it
would be nice to make the thumbnail preview sticky so it doesn't scroll along
with your scrolling in the main view.
