Please stop adding new information to this bug, i told you were the problem
lies and the problem is your distribution compiling poppler with the
unsupported exceptions feature enabled, go to your distribution and complain to
them for doing that.

[Okular-devel] [Bug 177213] High X server memory consumption

2010-09-02 Thread Pasi Rehtonen

I have been doing some digging and managed to get Firefox not to store pixmaps
in X11, and removed comic strip plasmoid because it seemed to store those
pixmaps in X11 too. So now when I open two okular sessions and scroll through
over 600 page pdfs one after another and then close them, there's a little lag
before the X11 RES goes back to normal (from 1500mb to 89mb (was 56mb before
the test) but still a far cry from 1500mb :) but still it does free 'em. This
when using the 'Normal' memory usage setting :) in okular.

I have not seen this in a while so I would say it is fixed now.
Has anybody experienced this behavior with any recent okular version?

This problem happens to me only using proprietary fglrx driver. No high memory
consumption with oss radeon.

[Okular-devel] [Bug 249901] New: add an option to Okular to blacken text

2010-09-02 Thread Frank Thieme
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=249901

Summary: add an option to Okular to blacken text
   Product: okular
   Version: 0.10.5
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: okular-devel@kde.org
ReportedBy: fr...@fthieme.net

Version: 0.10.5 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS:Linux

Sometimes I have to print out PDF files and blacken or blank out (German:
schwärzen) some information. I've seen the authoring tool to highlight
something.

I need the same thing, just not yello, but plain black...

Adobe Acrobat (not the reader) can do this and it is a great feature. Not often
used, but valuable when needed.

Reproducible: Didn't try
