Yes, that is correct. The problem is Wayland only, X11 works fine.

I am still having the issue as of today, version 24.02.0.

OK, thank you, it seems to be working now with speechd, but flite and mock do
not work. Are they supposed to work out of the box? If not, maybe there
should be a message or something to let people know that there is extra
configuration needed to use those modules.

It was not, but I installed it and the issue has not changed. I ran Okular
from a terminal, and this is the output I get when I select text and try to do
anything with it (i.e. speak, but also copy):

The cached device pixel ratio value was stale on window expose. Please file a
QTBUG which explains how to reproduce.

Dont' know if that has anything to do with the issue I am having.

They appear to work fine, though I'm not sure what the color blocks are
supposed to do.

I think it may be a fractional scaling related issue- with scaling set to 175%
or 125%, lots of glitching. Set to 100% or 200%, no problem.

I have two screens- one built into my laptop, and an external monitor. It
happens on both screens, either when they are both in use or when I use either
alone. I get no output from either of the commands you gave me. Is that
exactly how I should enter them to get live output in the terminal?

Just got this funny email from bugzilla_nore...@kde.org:

Bug 307224 Some or all of your votes have been removed.

Some or all of your votes have been removed from bug 307224.
You had 10 votes on this bug, but 10 have been removed.
You have no more votes remaining on this bug.
Reason:
The rules for voting on this product has changed; you had
too many total votes, so all votes have been removed.

What's a vote?

I'm pretty sure all I did was submit the feature request, and that's it.
Thanks

I saw the work around for this (resetting toolbars to default) and that
fixed the problem. I've tried adding several things to the toolbars to
cause the problem again, but no luck.

SUMMARY

In Okular, with the Window Appmenu widget enabled, the application menu is
missing text for the "File", "Help", and one other heading, which has several
configuration options. Also, the "Help" dropdown only has "About Backend",
which is not clickable, and no other entries. I'm reporting this as an Okular
bug, as I don't have this problem in any other application.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install and add Window Appmenu to a panel
2. Open Okular
3. Read menu, and pull down last dropdown

OBSERVED RESULT
Some menu items are listed as "No Text", help options and About Okular are
missing from "Help" pulldown menu.

All application menu text is displayed as normal.

Hi!
Came here to request this feature.

I'm looking at a 2191 page scanned (that is, I can't search it) pdf whose TOC
lists chapters and pages. E.g. "Integrated Control Unit" is listed as "23-156".
It DOESN'T say that it's on page 1628.

It could be as simple as evaluating "+169", or accepting +/- after the page
number, e.g. "1473+169". Either/both of those seem a trivial fix (from the
outside).

As for "other software", Okular could be a trend-setter.

Binary searches with a calculator are so 20th century :-)

Thanks
Doug

[Okular-devel] [Bug 218993] New: Monochrome TIFF images not displayed when no BitsPerSample tag present (qt 4.6)

2009-12-16 Thread Doug Semler
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218993

Summary: Monochrome TIFF images not displayed when no
BitsPerSample tag present (qt 4.6)
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: TIFF backend
AssignedTo: okular-devel@kde.org
ReportedBy: douglas.sem...@unisys.com

Version:(using KDE 4.3.4)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Unlisted Binary Package

When attempting to load a monochrome TIFF image (dolphin preview, kolourpaint,
or any other KDE-base application), a message stating Unable to load, invalid
image format (or no preview, or similar message) is displayed if the image
file is missing the BitsPerSample TIFF tag. This tag is optional in monochrome
images, with a default value of '1'. Adding the tag with the correct value
causes the images to be displayed/load properly.

Downgrading from qt 4.6 to qt 4.5.3 solves the issue.
