The problem has been fixed, and the above book should now work for you. Re: [ol-discuss] Hello, I'm a new member on an iPhone.

On my computer, when I open the reader, there is a sound icon in the upper menu bar that turns on the 'read aloud' feature. On the iPhone in Safari that upper bar is not present, therefore I do not see how to turn on 'read aloud.' Do we have anyone on the list who knows details of the reader software? Hi Karen and Ann, Apple's iOS blocks the multiple HTML5 audio API calls that the bookreader uses for its Text-To-Speech feature, so that button does not appear on iphones and ipads. Open Library makes DAISY books available for print-disabled users, but unfortunately these are not very usable on the iphone. Using Apple Voiceover on the plain text version of the books in Safari is also not very usable. Ann, would it be possible for you to acquire a hardware device such as the Humanware Victor Stream reader that works with OL DAISY files, and have someone help you load it with the books you want? -raj Ann, have you used 'read aloud' on the computer, and if so is that what you are looking for on the iPhone? kc On 9/25/13 8:48 AM, Ann wrote: Hello, I just joined your mailing list. Re: [ol-discuss] The Captia
I'm sorry.. this is terrible. If you send me your Open Library username I'll make it so you can edit without captcha. -raj On Dec 6, 2012, at 12:07 PM, Roger Loran Bailey rogerbaile...@aol.com wrote: Well ... Re: [ol-discuss] The Captia
Hi, Captcha for edits should now be turned off on your account, and for all accounts more than two years old. Hope that helps. We still need a more permanent solution, however. -raj On Dec 6, 2012, at 12:48 PM, Roger Loran Bailey rogerbaile...@aol.com wrote: It is RedStar.
