HI Michael,

I am not positive how VMs connected to appc-multicloud-integration were
directly accessed from the public network (the network the VPN accounts and
jumpstation are on) without a floating IP.However, I assigned the
oom-jenkins VM a floating IP on the public network (external), and now you can
reach it:

wrs_sgooch@pod-onap-01-vjhost:~$ nova list --all | grep oom-jenkins | awk
{'print $4,$14,$15'}
oom-jenkins appc-multicloud-integration=10.10.5.14, 10.12.6.49

wrs_sgooch@pod-onap-01-vjhost:~$ ssh -i openlab_oom_key.pem ubuntu@`nova list
--all | grep oom-jenkins | awk {'print $15'}`

Stephen,
Hi, thank you – saw the return to service this morning – very nice!.
I am still having SSH issues due to the network refactor over the holidays –
we used to be able to get to 10.12.5.0/24 nodes directly – but some of those
externally facing networks are gone.
Currently using the jump box/bastion box instead – I still have ssh issues
to vms
I will test password-only access instead of ssh – is there a new procedure
on which network to attach to our vm so we can get into it
   Thank you

From the jira

still having an issue with ssh between nodes – either directly or fron the jump

Hi Brian,

I’ve uploaded the papyrus files of the VNFD UML to the wiki as you requested.

You can find it under:

Or directly by the link:
https://wiki.onap.org/download/attachments/16003450/vnfd%20uml%20diagram%20files.zip?api=v2

The papyrus file only contains the diagram, there’s no detailed definitions…
Hope it will help though.

[onap-discuss] vFW creation on a registerd VIM

2018-01-17 Thread ESWAR RAO
Hi All,

I am trying to exercise vFwcl by following video posted in
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/vFWCL+instantiation,+testing,+and+debuging.

We were able to create the service and distribute it through SDC by sing
different roles as operator/tester/governor.

At the end of SDC demo, robot script was executed I guess to create dummy
customers.

I have registered a VIM through AAI and I can see it in
http://onap-multi-service/iui/aai-esr-gui/extsys/vim/vimView.html.

So as to create service , how can I correlate this distributed service with
registered VIM.

Can some one please help me on this regard ??

Re: [onap-discuss] Registered VIMs in ONAP Portal

2018-01-17 Thread Yang, Bin
Hi Eswar,

The link
http://onap.readthedocs.io/en/latest/submodules/multicloud/framework.git/docs/Multicloud-Fake_Cloud-Guide.html
is to onboarding a fake VMware fake cloud, you need change some parameters to
register a OpenStack instance.

I had shared some insight of VIM registration for ONAP A release in another
thread, I paste it here for your reference, by the way, (to echo your another
email ) you need use VID to instantiate the vFWCL demo.

First of all, with ONAP in Amsterdam release, the VIM registration is not
centralized in one place, as far as I know , there are two places to store VIM
registration information which concerning service/VNF instantiation: SO and
AAI. This is very important context for anyone who wants to add or modify VIM
registration information.

Several facts you need to know to register a new VIM instance to ONAP for
orchestration:

1. To put VIM registration information into AAI, there are various way to
do that, the most user-friend one is to leverage the ESR portal, which will
trigger multicloud to discover VIM/cloud resources automatically. Please refer
to docs at
http://onap.readthedocs.io/en/latest/submodules/aai/esr-server.git/docs/platform/installation.html
MultiCloud is using this VIM registration information to mediate API calls from
SO/APPC/DCAEgen2/VFC/etc. to underlying VIMs

2. To put VIM registration information into SO, you need login SO VM and
attach to the container, then you can change the config file. Here is the hint
on wiki:
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/vFWCL+instantiation%2C+testing%2C+and+debuging?focusedCommentId=22252150#comment-22252150
I guess VID is using this VIM registration information.

3. The registration procedures above are loosely coupled
Let me give you several examples:
Case 1: SO instantiate a VF modules without MultiCloud
In this case, VIM registration information refers to directly identity services
of underlying VIMs (those VIM exposes OpenStack keystone V2.0 API ), so the
identity_url looks like:
"identity_url": "http://10.12.25.2:5000/v2.0";,

Case 2: SO instantiate a VF modules via MultiCloud
In this case, VIM registration information refers to MultiCloud endpoints which
is a proxy to underlying VIMs, so the identity_url looks like:
"identity_url": "
http://10.0.14.1:80/api/multicloud-titanium_cloud/v0/pod25_RegionOne/identity/v2.0";,

For simplicity , I suggest that you just put VIM registration information into
SO, and follow the Case 1 to instantiate the vFWCL.
When you have more experiences and know how to compose the multicloud endpoints
for your VIM instance, you can do your test following the Case 2 .

Re: [onap-discuss] [OOM] - restart pod behavoir with SDNC data

2018-01-17 Thread FREEMAN, BRIAN D
I think we need to mount /opt/opendaylight/current and perhaps /opt/sdnc (or
whatever).

/opt/opendaylight becuase unless we preserve the file system then SDNC will
have to re-install the karaf feature bundles for SDNC/APPC on every restart and
load the directed graphs etc before replication of data will work (the data
models for the northbound API aren’t in ODL till the karaf features are loaded).

This will take minutes as I suspect you have noticed in OOM today vs in plain
docker its seconds to restart.

Hi Brian,

Resiliency is part of this epic:
OOM-346
and it has not being done yet.

I tend to think ODL data is not being persisted in the
SDNC-163
so we will have to address this, whether it’s for master or amsterdam.
Also, I’m not sure we should persist to whole ODL deployment
(/opt/opendaylight/current), but instead have a mechanism that creates
regularly snapshots and backup those upon restart (like
cluster-admin:backup-datastore
 or
daexim,
that I’m sure you already know)

This was Amsterdam.

Do we need to have the /opt/opendaylight/current/ directory persisted (or
current/journal) ?

I think the clustering team may have addressed this as well but cold recovery
of an SDNC cluster created by OOM requires something stored on the hard disk.

Very nice appreciated - actually I was just trying the new appc network as a
bridge – that network was not mine.
The actual network I used in the past – should have looked it up – was
“external-obsolete” on 10.12.25.0/24 which worked very well as a direct network
not requiring an EIP.
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Vetted+vFirewall+Demo+-+Full+draft+how-to+for+F2F+and+ReadTheDocs#VettedvFirewallDemo-Fulldrafthow-toforF2FandReadTheDocs-OpenlabVNCandCLI

The 10.12.6.0/24 EIP works well – thanks

But I am unable to get any more 10.12.6.0/24 IPs allocated. I can allocate
10.12.5.0/24 and 10.12.9.0/24 EIP – but they will not attach to VMs in the same
network.
I tried another vm on 10.12.6.0/24 – the appc network (not mine) and I cannot
get into this box either via my Jenkins with the EIP or directly
Usually I am ok with public/vpc tunneling but having a hard time for some reason

I don’t need anything special – just the ability to ssh directly or ssh tunnel
via the jump box into additional VM’s
I’ll try to write up the ssh tunneling procedure later – I think it is the way
I am associating my vms with the 3 networks – will look into this and get back
to you.

Thank you Stephen

{'print $4,$14,$15'}
oom-jenkins appc-multicloud-integration=10.10.5.14, 10.12.6.49

wrs_sgooch@pod-onap-01-vjhost:~$ ssh -i openlab_oom_key.pem ubuntu@`nova list
--all | grep oom-jenkins | awk {'print $15'}`

Stephen,
Hi, thank you – saw the return to service this morning – very nice!.
I am still having SSH issues due to the network refactor over the holidays –
we used to be able to get to 10.12.5.0/24 nodes directly – but some of those
externally facing networks are gone.
Currently using the jump box/bastion box instead – I still have ssh issues
to vms
I will test password-only access instead of ssh – is there a new procedure
on which network to attach to our vm so we can get into it
   Thank you

Hello Stephen,

I am failing to run vFWCL demo in OpenLab.

The failure is during creation of a port with a fixed IP address.
Could you please help me resolve this?
I tried doing that with user BorislavG in OOM tenant.

[onap-discuss] Did You Know?

2018-01-17 Thread Roger Maitland

[cid:image001.png@01D38FAC.4D03D500]

Did You Know?
OOM 'readiness' probes can be customized.

When deploying ONAP with OOM a Kubernetes readiness probe is used determine if
it is safe to start the next container in the dependency chain. This
'readiness' probe is usually quite simple
(ready.py)
but could be customized to better fit the needs of individual components. For
example, if there is a dependency on a database being initialized the simple
readiness probe is likely insufficient. However, a custom probe that checks
for database content could be used to avoid the need for static timeouts.
Custom readiness probes such as these could help ensure the component comes up
every time and might also lessen the time to do so.

If know where a custom readiness probe would be beneficial, please contact the
OOM team.

If you'd like to learn more about OOM, check out the OOM
wiki or
concepts to find out more about
Kubernetes.

Cheers,
Roger Maitland

Re: [onap-discuss] [multicloud] synergy between APPC and Multi-cloud in R2

2018-01-17 Thread MAHER, RANDA
Hi Xinhui,

Our current architecture for IaaS adapter/CDP-PAL does not interface DMaaP, so
that interface would need to be built. At this stage we are not doing any work
in Beijing related to interface to the cloud; we will continue to use CPD-PAL
and support MultiVIM integration to the extent we did in Amsterdam (as a
proxy). How we interface to the cloud and the cloud abstraction layer is
definitely one of our long term goals, there is a lot of work to be done in
this area; however, this is not in scope for Beijing.

However, discussion is always valuable, we would be most happy to discuss and
learn more about what MultiVIM is developing.

Thanks, Randa

Subject: [onap-discuss][multicloud] synergy between APPC and Multi-cloud in R2

Hi Randa,

In R2 Release, Multi VIM/Cloud targets to support event/notification federation
between external Clouds and ONAP. This will bring obvious benefits to S3p
improvement, e.g. instead of looped polling to know if VM is properly
powered-off, a corresponding event will be thrown to DMAAP and help to achieve
an efficient closed loop with existing use cases. It will be nice if we can
have some sync up meeting to discuss about this.
