[onap-discuss] 答复: [modeling] Identifiers in R2 IM descriptors

2018-03-06 Thread Lishitao
Hi Jessie

There is a descriptor_id defined in tosca.nodes.nfv.VNF node type. But for
same data types, the identifiers are not needed, because they directly defined
in the specific nodes.
For example, in tosca.datatypes.nfv.VduProfile, there is no vudId, because
Vduprofile will be a property contained in the Vdu.compute node.

主题: [onap-discuss] [modeling] Identifiers in R2 IM descriptors

As I'm unable to attend the early discussions regarding the R2 IM model, I hope
you will please take my feedback into consideration.

The ETSI descriptors (classes) that we map into R2 IM descriptor classes all
have identifiers, i.e. VNFDesc (vnfdId), VDUDesc (vduId), etc.

The ETSI datatypes that we map into R2 descriptor classes DON'T have id's, as
they are originally datatypes, i.e. VirtualCPUDesc, VirtualMemoryDesc,
LogicalNodeDesc, etc.

Descriptors are a type of "resource specification", and as such they ALL should
have id's, particularly if you want to retrieve them via a Resource Catalog NBI.

I would therefore propose one of the following solutions:

1. Have a "ResourceSpecification" abstract base class that contains "id", and
remove identifiers from the descriptor classes, which inherit from that base
class.

2. Add identifiers to all the ETSI datatypes that we mapped to descriptor
classes, such as mentioned above.

Could this please be put on an agenda for discussion.
Thank-you,
Jessie

Hi Xu,
Thanks for the summary. With respect to naming convention poll, I would like
to share of what I just posted on the wiki page.

I would like to share with the team on the result from ETSI NFV IFA WG
discussion on the IE and attributes renaming. At the time the development of
IFA011 and IFA014 IM models, IFA WG adopted a set of guidelines of their naming
convention for the information model. Last week, ETSI NFV ISG released the IFA
naming conventions and abbreviations documents. The documents are publicly
available at
https://docbox.etsi.org/ISG/nfv/Open/Other/NFVIFA(16)000922r6_Conventions_for_the_use_of_abbreviations.zip.
My understanding is that these documents should clarify the changes request
by ONAP with respect to renaming IEs or attributes. Please note that these
documents are applicable to the IFA documents (Stage 2 type of specification).

Thinh

Hi All,

I was about to mention the results of our two polls but got not enough time to
do so.

1) Naming Convention Poll (I also count in two opinions expressed in the
comments):

Option 1: 16 people, 6 company

Option 3: 8 people, 3 company

Option 1 takes the lead, and if there’re no further objections, we’ll use the
same names/naming conventions as IFA011 has.

2) Future Meeting Time Poll:

The most preferred slot (6 votes): Tue 9~10 pm (Beijing)

The second preferred slot (4 votes): Fri 9~10 pm (Beijing)

If there’re no further comments, we will start our future meetings at Tue 9~10

[onap-discuss] [modeling] Support for HPA in SOL001 mapping

2018-03-06 Thread jessie jewitt
I'm not seeing the support in the SOL001 spec for all the HPA related
attributes in the IM that we are specifying here:
https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=25436710

For example, in our VirtualCpuDesc class there is an attribute
vduCpuRequirements that says gets mapped to tosca.datatypes.nfv.VirtualCpu

When I look at the definition in SOL001 regarding
tosca.datatypes.nfv.VirtualCpu
it says:

" tosca.datatypes.nfv.VirtualCpu shall be modelled as defined in
TOSCA-Simple-Profile-NFV-v1.0"

When I go look at the TOSCA Simple NFV Profile, this datatype has the
following attributes:

Name

Required

Type

Constraints

Description

cpu_architecture

no

string

CPU architecture type. Examples are x86, ARM.

num_virtual_cpu

yes

integer

Number of virtual CPU’s

virtual_cpu_clock

no

scalar-unit.frequency

Minimum virtual CPU clock rate

virtual_cpu_oversubscription_policy

no

string

CPU core oversubscription policy

virtual_cpu_pinning

no

tosca.datatypes.nfv.VirtualCpuPinning

The virtual CPU pinning configuration for the virtualized compute resource.

There is NO vduCpuRequirements.
What they mapped was the VirtualCpu class and NOT the VirtualCpuDesc class.

The same holds true for our VirtualMemoryDesc which has
vduMemoryRequirements that says is mapped to
tosca.datatypes.nfv.VirtualMemory

This datatype in the TOSCA Simple Profile does NOT contain
vduMemoryRequirements.

2018-03-06 Thread Michela Bevilacqua
Hi,
I share some questions about Resource TOSCA data model as follow up of the
today´s ONAP modeling subcommittee meeting

  1. Assuming the discussion we had today during the ONAP modeling
subcommittee about OASIS TOSCA NFV or SOL001 is limited to the VNF onboarding
model. What is the TOSCA data model used by SDC to generate the VNF and service
descriptors to be shared with the ONAP run time component ?

  1. Assuming the discussion we had today during the ONAP modeling
subcommittee about OASIS TOSCA NFV or SOL001 is limited to the VNF onboarding
model. I expect that the VNF onboarding model needs implementation only in SDC.

  1. Assuming OASIS TOSCA NFV profile (v004) is a subset of ETSI SOL001
without features as HPA and monitoring parameters, if OASIS TOSCA NFV profile
will be preferred for VNF onboarding model, will SOL001 used to introduce HPA
and Monitoring parameters or …. ?

  1. If OASIS TOSCA NFV profile will be preferred for in R2, do we expect to
move to SOL001 in R3 ? IN other word, are we only delaying SOL001 support of 1
release or …?

Hi Jessie,

Your summary below shows there are a lot of inconsistency of TOSCA types naming
convention with IFA011. I fully acknowledge it. SOL WG is in the process of
cleaning it up with these guidelines:

  * SOL001 Type naming convention is UpperCamelCase.
  * SOL001 properties naming convention is lowercase_underscored or
snake_case.
  * SOL001 shall not include postfixes of “d”, “D”, “Desc”, “Descr” of type
or properties names.
  * SOL001 shall not include prefixes of “vnf” of properties names, like
vnfdid, vnfProvider, vnfProductName, vnfSoftwareVersion,
vnfdVersion,vnfProductInfoName, vnfProductinfoDescription.

The inconsistence issues should be resolved with the next version of SOL001
(v0.6.0).

Meanwhile, I have created a wiki page to show all of the ONAP R2 Resource IM
attributes (clean version wiki page) map to SOL001 (TOSCA model) data model,
https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=25436710. (see SOL001
Mapping column). The mapping table shows that all of ONAP Resource IM
attributes are mapped into TOSCA types with detail. Except for any of new
attributes (“orange” highlighted text) are not yet defined.

Perhaps, I can introduce this page at Modeling sub_committee on Tuesday call.

This message is particularly directed to Anatoly, Alex, and Thinh, as we have
an action item to map ONAP IM to DM. If one of you could respond, I'd
appreciate it.

My understanding is that SOL001 is mapping the VNFD model to TOSCA. They
indicate they are mapping the ETSI NFV elements listed below into TOSCA types
(page 12).

I'm not clear why they chose the elements they did, as they don't all
correspond to the VNFD model which is defined in the ETSI "VnfTemplateModule"
of the model.

Also, the actual ETSI elements named do not correspond to exactly what is
defined in the model (they probably just got sloppy, but they should pay
attention to detail).

Here's the list of the currently defined elements that they map
1. VNF - Shouldn't this be Vnfd? The Vnf is defined in the VnfModule of the
model. Also, the element is called Vnf and not VNF.
2. VDU - OK, but it should be Vdu, not VDU.
3. Cpd -Maybe ok? It is defined in the CommonTemplateModule as an abstract
class. You don't instantiate abstract classes, so you will never have an
instance. Do you have TOSCA types that represent abstract classes? Also, they
don't map other abstract classes such as VirtualLinkDesc, so why map this one?
4. VduCpd - OK. This would contain all the attributes in Cpd, so again I'm not
sure why you need Cpd.
5. VnfVirtualLinkDesc - OK
6. VnfExtCpd - OK
7. Virtual Storage - Shouldn't this be VirtualStorageDesc?
8. Virtual Compute - Shouldn't this be VirtualComputeDesc? Particularly to
distinguish it from the VirtualCompute class.
9. Software Image - Shouldn't this be SwImageDesc? Particularly to distinguish
it from SwImage.
10. Deployment Flavour - Shouldn't this be VnfDf?
11. Scaling Aspect - They should at least give the correct element name of
ScalingAspect.
12. Element Group - I assume they mean VnfdElementGroup? They should use the
correct name.
13. Instantiation Level - OK, but they should give the correct name
InstantiationLevel.

The names used in the Tosca

Re: [onap-discuss] [modeling] Data model mapping using SOL001

2018-03-06 Thread jessie jewitt
Thanks Thinh for your response.
I think it is more of an issue than just naming conventions, and that we
can't just take the SOL001 mappings "as defined":

1. You are saying that SOL001 shall not include postfixes of "d","D",
"Desc", etc. So, why in one case they have "VNF", and another
"VnfVirtualLinkDesc". Is the "VNF" mapping a "Vnf" or a "Vnfd"? They really
should be EXPLICIT in the IFA elements they are mapping, and not just say
they are leaving off this important postfix.

2. All of our IM classes are "descriptors". SOL001 sometimes maps
descriptors to "nodes" (VNF, VDU, Cpd...), sometimes to "capabilities"
(VirtualCompute... did they mean this as a descriptor or a resource?), and
other times to "datatypes" (VirtualCpu, VirtualMemory,LogicalNode...).
Don't we want them all to be "nodes"?

3. Regarding the mapping of "datatypes" mentioned above, I assume they did
this because those entities are datatypes in the IFA model and not
"descriptor" classes as we've made them in the ONAP model. We are not being
consistent in our mapping. If we mean them to be descriptors, they should
be "nodes" as well.

Re: [onap-discuss] SDC- local development - how to?

2018-03-06 Thread Morales, Victor
Hi Marcin,

Just one additional think about the vagrant provider, even when VirtualBox is
the default one you can use Libvirt. There is a script that installs it

https://github.com/onap/integration/blob/master/bootstrap/vagrant-onap/tools/setup.sh

The other alternative is to use the scripts in your own environment without
having to install a Virtual Machine, I tried to explain that here

http://onap.readthedocs.io/en/amsterdam/submodules/integration.git/bootstrap/vagrant-onap/doc/source/features/consuming_scripts.html

I don’t recommend it because the dependencies will be installed in your host
machine and eventually those can be omitted or assumed, resulting in
heterogonous development environments.

Hello,

Thank you for suggestions.

Especially link:
ttps://github.com/onap/integration/blob/master/bootstrap/vagrant-onap/lib/sdc

is very useful.
I can see that Vagrant is being used for local development with Virtual Box.
Unfortunately, VirtaulBox is not a good option for running at machine hosting
as OS Linux.

What I am still thinking of is something simpler.
I have JDK and Maven available at my machine (having Windows, Linux, Solaris,
zOS, whatever) so that I am able to execute Maven's goals responsible for
compilation, testing and packaging of SDC Maven modules.
Now I would like to run SDC locally in order to define PNF of VFN within SDC
locally.

Lets assume I have Apache Tomcat/Jetty available.
I can see that modules:
a) sdc/catalog-be
b) sdc/catalog-fe
generate war modules that can be run on any Java web container, so I think they
could be good starting points.

So would it be a good idea to focus on mentioned artifacts?
Also from Vagrant file I can see that elasticsearch & cassandra are also needed.

Hey Marcin,

We tried to collect most of the instructions (clone and compile, install
dependencies, build docker images, etc.) into the vagrant-onap script [1].
This is its documentation [2], but it’s not covering the configuration and
installation of the IDE, I suggest to install it manually and use the opt
folder given that it’s sharing the source code between host and guest computers.

[onap-discuss] [modeling] Results of the two polls

2018-03-06 Thread yangxu (H)

If there’re no further comments, we will start our future meetings at Tue 9~10
pm (Beijing) and have the other slot as a substitute.

Best regards,
Xu

[onap-discuss] [modeling] HPA poll and remaining issues

2018-03-06 Thread yangxu (H)
Hi All,

As requested, here’s my summary for the next steps for HPA issue.

I’ve created a poll page regarding whether (and how) to put certain attribute
into the R2 IM. https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/HPA+Attributes+Poll
Please add comments or supporting materials to that page as you wish. I hope we
can reach an agreement by Thursday.

Another issue is about the definitions of the key value pairs, by which I mean
what the “key”s are for each attribute and the structure for the values. That’s
the mostly heard argument in previous discussions, so I think we also need to
finalize this.

I think we need to have a document/input for that as soon as possible. (Perhaps
based on OpenStack Newton/Pike?) And that would help people make their opinions
on the above poll as well. Hope to hear some suggestions here. I would like to
see it before this week, or better, before Thursday.

Let’s move forward on this topic.

Best regards,
Xu

Re: [onap-discuss] SDC- local development - how to?

2018-03-06 Thread Lando,Michael
Guys,

At the moment we have to ways to deploy us that we are offering one is vagrant
based which works on windows and MAC.

We have an option to deploy using a Linux Machin as well.

In both cases you develop on your local machine and push the images to the
VirtualBox VM or the Linux machine.

I am also sure that you can develop on MAC or Windows 10 directly after
installing docker engine.

I do not think that the approach where you are only creating wars and just
changing them will work, since we have a lot of logic as part of our dockers
and such an approach will create difficulties for you.

In addition as we progress we will be using K8 for managing our dockers and so
to deploy us you will need it on your machine for us to work.
This change will also be handled by us in the vagrant env.

Hi Marcin,

Vagrant for ONAP can be configured for VirtualBox, libvirt and OpenStack.
Second provider should be relevant for Linux OS environment. You can configure
this provider with ENV variable

export VAGRANT_DEFAULT_PROVIDER=libvirt

This is its documentation [2], but it's not covering the configuration and
installation of the IDE, I suggest to install it manually and use the opt
folder given that it's sharing the source code between host and guest computers.

Re: [onap-discuss] [onap-discussion]: Multi VIM deployment

2018-03-06 Thread Alexis de Talhouët
Ramu,

This can be done as part of the same Service. As part of the Service design,
you will define the VNF required. And as part of the VNF definition, you will
define the VFC required.
In the case of VoLTE, there are two VNFs: vIMS, vEPC. Each of those VNF is
composed of multiple VFCs. See
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Integration+Testing+Schedule%2C+10-4-2017?preview=%2F15999783%2F15999774%2FVoLTE+Use+Case+for+Dev+Event+Presented.pdf

At the time of creating the VFC (or vf-module), you will have to select the VIM
where to deploy.

Look at https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=25431491
 to learn how to
register a VIM.

Re: [onap-discuss] sonar and clm jenkins jobs fails on sandbox

2018-03-06 Thread DRAGOSH, PAMELA L (PAM)
Mickael,

Just open a helpdesk ticket to LF and have Jessica ensure the settings for
VNFSDK exist. Most likely they are not there yet which is the error you are
currently seeing.

Keep note that the sandbox Jenkins server has no access rights to upload jars
to nexus as well as upload sonar results. It has very limited capabilities so
most likely your jobs will end up ultimately failing anyway once the settings
are there.

Not really much of a sandbox but it can help a little bit when prototyping a
new job.

Good luck

I'd like to run the sonar and CLM jobs for my project.
To do so, I've first updated the jjb templates for my project and followed the
wiki indications :
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Configuring+Jenkins

The jjb template used to generate the job config is as follows:
---
- project:
name: vnfsdk-ice
project-name: 'vnfsdk-ice'
project: 'vnfsdk/ice'
stream:
  - 'master':
  branch: 'master'
subproject:
  - ice:
  path: '.'
  pattern: '**'
mvn-settings: 'vnfsdk-ice-settings'
build-node: ubuntu1604-basebuild-4c-4g
jobs:
  - gerrit-maven-clm
  - '{project-name}-{stream}-{subproject}-verify-python'

but when I run the sonar job on the jenkins sandbox, it fails:
https://jenkins.onap.org/sandbox/job/vnfsdk-ice-maven-clm-master/1/console

The first error seems to be due to a missing maven settings file :

07:48:07 provisioning config files...

07:48:07 copy managed file [global-settings] to
file:/w/workspace/vnfsdk-ice-maven-clm-master@tmp/config3487783067304452229tmp

07:48:07 not able to provide the file [ManagedFile: id=vnfsdk-ice-settings,
targetLocation=, variable=SETTINGS_FILE], can't be resolved by any provider -
maybe it got deleted by an administrator?
I have also tried to run a sonar job, but it failed too.
Does any one knows what's wrong ?

thanks !

MJ

Re: [onap-discuss] vCPE Queries - GenInfra VNF deployment

2018-03-06 Thread Arun Arora (c)
Hi Kang, Eric,

Continuing further the discussion regarding manual creation of networks,
I am going through the procedure to create'Pre-Build_VNF_Images' as mentioned
in the following wiki (Created by Eric):
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/ONAP+vCPE+VPP-based+VNF+Installation+and+Usage+Information#ONAPvCPEVPP-basedVNFInstallationandUsageInformation-Buildingapre-builtVNFImage

Wiki says to create stacks for 4 VNFs using the templates for them. The ENV
file for templates mentioned private networks which are not created beforehand,
so, the 'openstack stack create' command fails stating that the network was not
found.

Wondering, if the network creation part need to be updated in wiki? Unless I am
missing something.

Thanks,

Thanks for the clarification.
I will go through the Wiki page you mentioned as I proceed further in vCPE. For
now I will create the networks manually while I am trying through Openstack

Meanwhile, I had another query related to matching services with the VNFs

Also, I don't see the BNG MUX in the vCPE use case diagram. Can you please

Arun,

The network and subnet names in the heat is not final. If you instantiate
through ONAP, ONAP will replace those names with what's needed on the fly and
then everything matches. If you do it manually then there will be such
problems. For details please refer this:

So I added zdfw1cpe01_public Network in my project. But then I got the
following error:

ERROR: Property error: : resources.vdhcp_private_0_port.properties.network: :
Error validating value 'zdfw1cpe01_private': Unable to find network with name
or id 'zdfw1cpe01_private'

Seems like the networks don't get created as part of stack creation.
So I just wanted to know the reason behind this difference between vCPE and
vFW/vLB templates.
I believe that this must have been discussed in the vCPE community meetings.
But if you could be so generous and reply back with a short description to my
query.

With Best Regards,
Arun Arora
