Hi Alla,

Thanks for including the Edge Automation work in the next week's agenda. Based
on the last meeting, the consensus was to update the use case subcommittee in
the week on April 30th. Our work is progressing well
(https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Edge+Automation+through+ONAP) and looking
forward to community participation.

Subject: [onap-discuss] Usecase subcommittee meeting 09/04/2018: the summary

Hi all,

Thanks to all meeting's attendants!

Here is the meeting's summary:

  1. Agreed that we have time till end of April to discuss E2E use case
candidates for Casablanca, which will be followed by formal approval
 * All approvals will be conditional pending final functional
requirements extraction and generalization, and agreements on
functionality/assigned resources with each one of involved projects
 * Approvals will also be based on input received from a group of ONAP
Service Providers regarding their deployment requirements
  2. Use case description should be as full as possible e.g. not only "5G" but
"5G Network slicing" with initial flows, potential involved companies, business
need description etc.
 * The target is to have eventually all generalized functional
requirements defined by the same template as created and used for HPA:
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Hardware+Platform+Enablement+In+ONAP
  3. Next week's meeting will be dedicated to 5G related use cases discussions
and what can realistically go into Casablanca scope, specifically
 a. PNF support (whatever is not covered in Beijing)
  b. Optimization and OOF
  c. Network slicing
  d. Edge Automation

[onap-discuss] [OOM] CD master auto hourly/2 deploy job retrofitted - seeing 19/33 HC pass

2018-04-10 Thread Michael O'Brien
Guys,
The Amazon AWS master/Beijing hourly OOM Kubernetes deploy CD test server
has been fixed.
cd.sh retrofitted to use new helm install/delete work done by the OOM team
along with the project teams (thank you)
The new OOM helm based orchestration system is a lot cleaner/better -
essentially a single helm delete/install line (the rest of cd.sh is monitoring
and health sh code)

- healthcheck results available again in kibana every 2 hours for master - full
delete/install of the 102 containers and the config dir.

https://jenkins.onap.org/job/oom-cd-master

http://kibana.onap.info:5601/app/kibana#/dashboard/AWAtvpS63NTXK5mX2kuS?_g=()&_a=(description:'',filters:!(),options:(darkTheme:!f),panels:!((col:1,id:AWAts77k3NTXK5mX2kuM,panelIndex:1,row:1,size_x:8,size_y:3,type:visualization),(col:9,id:AWAtuTVI3NTXK5mX2kuP,panelIndex:2,row:1,size_x:4,size_y:3,type:visualization),(col:1,id:AWAtuBTY3NTXK5mX2kuO,panelIndex:3,row:7,size_x:6,size_y:3,type:visualization),(col:1,id:AWAttmqB3NTXK5mX2kuN,panelIndex:4,row:4,size_x:6,size_y:3,type:visualization),(col:7,id:AWAtvHtY3NTXK5mX2kuR,panelIndex:6,row:4,size_x:6,size_y:6,type:visualization)),query:(match_all:()),timeRestore:!f,title:'CD%20Health%20Check',uiState:(),viewMode:view)

First retrofitted build showing 19/33 since the switch just before ONS on
the 20th http://jenkins.onap.info/job/oom-cd-master/2628/console
Merging cd.sh changes to https://jira.onap.org/browse/OOM-716

Note: getting about 24 container failures (half are in normal hierarchy
pending state waiting on dependencies to finish - the subset of 24 that is
actually having issues) of the full 94 - this is being addressed by everyone as
we speak.
Note: we are still good with Rancher 1.6.14 and Kubernetes 1.8.9+ (that
regression 4 weeks ago with Kubernetes 1.8.9 was fixed).
Stats: on a 16 vCore 122G vm it takes about 18 min to delete ONAP, the
system comes up in about 35 min (this includes a pull policy of always and
accounting for configuration tgz extraction to /dockerdata-nfs/onap)
At around the 20 min interval we start to saturate all vCores - last check
on a 64 vCore vm was 55 - with 94 containers I expect higher now - so as before
a larger VM or more clusters hosts will be better.
At 25 min 60/94 containers are up
At 36 min 79/94 containers are up (steady state for now) - up from 27
failures or 75/94 up yesterday

I am working on the Azure one next at onap.cloud - but the kibana
configuration was wiped just after ONS (no security on the ELK stack) - so use
AWS based onap.info for now.

   Reference page
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Auto+Continuous+Deployment+via+Jenkins+and+Kibana#AutoContinuousDeploymentviaJenkinsandKibana-AutomatedONAPCDInfrastructure
   Other LF CD system
The last run showed 17/30 which aligns with the current 19/30 if 2
components were fixed in the last 6 hours or we are seeing intermittent
healthcheck timing issues.

thank you

[onap-discuss] [AAI] A for pairwise testing

2018-04-10 Thread Ranganathan, Dileep
Hi A team,

Do you have any BKM to deploy A for pairwise testing?
The Multicloud project and OOF project is trying to do pairwise testing. So far
we were testing using the Development Environment setup specified here A
Developer Environment Setup - Updated for
Beijing!
Is there a similar container setup and configuration documentation that we can
follow?

Thanks,
Dileep

Re: [onap-discuss] OOM Documentation

2018-04-10 Thread Roger Maitland
First of all thanks for reading the documentation and providing feedback. See
my answers below:

Cheers,
Roger

From: on behalf of Ing-Wher Chen

Date: Friday, April 6, 2018 at 2:06 PM
To: "onap-discuss@lists.onap.org"
Subject: Re: [onap-discuss] OOM Documentation

Hi Roger,

A few questions about the new OOM documentation.

In OOM User Guide "Install Helm Repo"
,
the repo osn is mentioned without being created first, and the rest of the
page uses the repo local. In the same section, is the command "helm install
local/onap -name development" missing a namespace? And also should it be
"--name development" instead of "-name development"?

RM> The OOM team is currently working with the Linux Foundation to get a
central repo setup for the helm charts. Until this is complete the build your
own repo is the best option. I did put a note on this page that the ‘osn’ repo
isn’t available (I’m not even certain that is what it will be called once it’s
available). The kubernetes namespace is now an optional parameter. If the
namespace is left out ‘default’ will be used. The ‘--name’ (you’re correct and
the fix is already merged) refers to the helm release which allows for even
more flexibility in your ONAP deployment.

In OOM User Guide "Configure"
,
there is some discussion about the top level onap/values.yaml file followed by
an example of onap-production.yaml. Why does the top level onap/values.yaml
file (in the git repository) not have the same section on vnfDeployment as the
sample onap-production.yaml? What is the VNF development environment when
installing ONAP using the default top level onap/values.yaml? Is the old
oom/kubernetes/config/onap-parameters.yaml obsolete?

RM> Yes the entire oom/kubernetes/config directory is obsolete. The
documentation is a little rough here and needs to be updated to content
matching gerrit. What I was trying to illustrate here is that one can use their
own private configuration file(s) to override parameters throughout the entire
ONAP deployment. I’ll update the documentation.

Thanks in advance for answering.
