[onap-discuss] #multicloud #VFC multi tenancy

2018-11-19 Thread Mandeep Singh Kalra
Hi,

One of the requirements of the Casablanca release was ::

Jira-948 Multi tenancy support

Is multi-tenancy using VFC supported using the cloud-owner/ region concept ?

Different cloud owners need to be set for each tenant of that region ?
Has it been tested in any use case ?

Or there are plans to not use cloud owner ?

Regards
Mandeep

Re: [onap-discuss] #multicloud telemetry

2018-11-14 Thread Mandeep Singh Kalra
For eg VF-C at at the time of resource grant can do the reservations.

I know there are APIs in multicloud to check the capacity of VIM. Is it that
VF-C checks for a tenant while OOF checks for a region?

H Mandeep,

I would like to understand the context of your question before I
could share any insight w.r.t. multicloud: Since multicloud is exposing API to
ONAP components including VFC, SO,APPC, I wonder which one is supposed to issue
the API request to do the resource reservations/etc. in your cases?

Thanks

Hello,

I am trying to check the multicloud component of ONAP.

I have few questions regarding the same ::

  * Will the multicloud project do the resource reservations on the VIM ( and
return reservationIds etc)?
  * Can we create new tenants on VIM and allocate quota through the
multicloud ?
  * Will it provide the resource utilization per tenant and provide graphical
representation of the same ?
  * Is Prometheus integration part of the Casablanca release ?

Currently, we are trying to support the indirect mode in VF-C.

Hi Mandeep,

Yup I faced the similar issue when using g-vnfm. The template you used might be
from vfc-catalog samples directory. In my case I manually populated those
values.

In this case, if you only deploy vIMS service, the link between the VNFs is

Hi,

In the VOLTE use case SDNC is used to create the underlay and overlay networks
after connecting to external SDN Controllers. SDNC doesn’t play a part in
deploying vIMS and vEPC services.
If I am not wrong then in vcpe use case the SDNC is used to do the connectivity
of the VNFs.

So, if we consider only vIMS service which itself has multiple
VNFs, SDN-C is not needed or the VFC NSLCM handles it ?

Hi Mandeep,

You can download the csar sample from

In this csar template ,there is a part called user_data, this may be the

There are two models for NFVO, VNFM and VIM interfacing.
One is direct model, where VNFM calls VIM directly.
The other is indirect model, where NFVO acting as the proxy between the two and

In either case, the VNFM could be a third party SVNFM or the GVNFM as part of

If I understand the question correctly they you want to add an artifact to one
of the models in sdc.

This option is available from the ui interface you can choose to add a deploy
meant artifact based on the versions available the.

Once add it will be distributed with our package.

Hi Rebecca,

Taking the VoLTE use case as an example, VNF configuration is completed through
the vendor EMS.
VF-C provides an component called EMS driver which can translate alarms and
performance received from the vendor EMS into VES format and report to DCAE
VESCollector. Then the alarm is received by the DCAE application, such as
Holmes(do alarm correlation ), then policy project will match the corresponding
policy, and then call action actor, such as VF-C to do heal.

Currently , VF-C does not support VNF configuration changes based on alarm
close loop.

Hi,

I have a related question.
Assume I am using VFC with a S-VNFM for LCM.
And sure, I can use an external EM for configuration of my VNF. (This is the
answer specified below)

However, how can I utilize ONAP for closed loops using my VNF specific alarms
and VNF specific configuration? If there is something in my VNF specific data
model generating an alarm or counter (VES event) which I then want a policy to
have a configuration change sent to the VNF.

I believe this kind of closed loop could be done with APPC. If I am using VFC
do I also use APPC somehow for this scenario?

Thanks,
Rebecca

Hi,

VOLTE e2e workflow in R1 required resources to be created towards SDNC(

SO was calling Generic Resource APIs(network topology operation) towards
SDNC. Is there any config parameter in r2 which can control the DG to be called
on SDNC, for eg ::activateDCINetwork in Volte case ?

And, regarding the Tosca decomposition, I guess VFC is doing that for its
own Resource level service like vIMS and vEPC , what will be the role of SO?
For SDN networks, the tosca decomposition will happen at the SO level and
then the request will be sent to SDNC or SDNC also parses tosca templates ?
What is the significance of sdncVersion in SO ?

Subject: [External] 答复: [onap-discuss] Generic SO BPMN Flow for HEAT
orchestration

Hi Steve,
SO already have an e2eservice endpoint APIs used in voLTE use case now,
it is generic for one-step instantiate(For vFw, vCPE, you can use generic BPMN
or design specific BPMN for it, this depends the service recipe set to the
service template ).
So I think we should not have another NBI for it , please discuss this
with SO PTL first before you do this.
As I know, the service instances endpoint is for VID step-by-step
operations.
Thanks,
Chuanyu Chen.

There is a generic BPMN in place today in SO, it is the service instances
endpoint. The generic northbound request will be pushed early in Casablanca,
VID will also be updated to specify input to each resource. It should get
merged in the next coming weeks.

Thanks

-Steve

Subject: Re: [onap-discuss] Generic SO BPMN Flow for HEAT orchestration

Hi,

To my knowledge, there is no “generic” BPMN that allow to orchestrate
service/vnfs/vfmodules/networks for vFW, vCPE from a single northbound SO
request.
A specific BPMN exists for voLTE use-case but I did not experiment it.

I expect that it is possible to create such “generic” BPMN.

Any contribution on that subject would be very appreciated.

René

Subject: Generic SO BPMN Flow for HEAT orchestration

Hi,

I had a doubt about the orchestration of some use cases like vFW, vCPE
in which HEAT templates are used.
In the demo as part of R1, VID was used to create the Service in which
first the service was created then VNF and then VF modules.

Is there a generic flow available in R2 in which we can pass a single
request from the northbound system ?
And is ARIA orchestration integrated with SO ?

Mandeep
