That's solved the issue Ruoyu. I could see Service Instance created now. Thank
you so much.

What I missed is : Matching between the following attributes as you suggested.

resources(Policy)  = resourceModuleName(SO)
policyScope (Policy) =  ServiceName(SO)

Hi Vamshi,

I checked the logs you attached. It is showing that OOF cannot find an
appropriate flavor inside AAI, so it is returning a 'not found' to SO which
causes the results here. Can you check if you do have a candidate inside AAI
matches all the requirement you specified in the HPA policies? Thanks.

Re: [onap-discuss] [SO][OOF] error while instantiating service

2019-08-15 Thread Ying, Ruoyu
Hi Vamshi,

I checked the logs here and I saw there's something missing in your policy.
First, to apply the policies for a certain VNF included in a certain service,
you need to make the two keys inside the policies('resources' and
'policyScope') matching with the values you have in your SO request. You need
to have your 'ServiceName' in the SO request available inside the 'policyScope'
in the policy, and have your 'resourceModuleName' in the SO request available
as part of 'resources' in the policies.

Take an example here. According to the pushed-policies.txt and the
so-bpmn-log.txt you provided. We shall have a sample Distance policy being
retrieved like this:

{
"config":
"{\"service\":\"distancePolicy\",\"guard\":\"False\",\"content\":{\"policyType\":\"distance_to_location\",\"applicableResources\":\"any\",\"identity\":\"distance-vFW\",\"policyScope\":[\"vfw\",\"us\",\"international\",\"ip\"],\"distanceProperties\":{\"distance\":{\"value\":\"100\",\"unit\":\"km\",\"operator\":\"<\"},\"locationInfo\":\"customer_loc\"},\"resources\":[\"vFW\",\"VfwHeatHpaV1\",\"HpaVf42\"]},\"priority\":\"3\",\"templateVersion\":\"OpenSource.version.1\",\"riskLevel\":\"2\",\"description\":\"Distance
 Policy for
vFW\",\"policyName\":\"OSDF_DUBLIN.Distance_vFW_1\",\"version\":\"test1\",\"riskType\":\"test\"}",
"matchingConditions": {
"ECOMPName": "SampleDemo",
"ONAPName": "SampleDemo",
"policyScope": "vfw,us,international,ip",
"policyType": "distance_to_location",
"service": "distancePolicy"
},
"policyConfigMessage": "Config Retrieved! ",
        "policyConfigStatus": "CONFIG_RETRIEVED",
"policyName": "OSDF_DUBLIN.Config_MS_Distance_vFW_1.1.xml",
"policyType": "MicroService",
"policyVersion": "1",
"property": null,
"responseAttributes": {},
"type": "JSON"
}

So I think it is because of this, that a lot information are missing in the
payload and cause the failure of placement.
Can you try updating the policies with the correct value and see if it can
solve this problem?
Thanks.

Best Regards,
Ruoyu

Hi Vamshi,

This error mainly happens when there's something wrong with the optimization
policy that is needed for placement. May you try login to the osdf pod and copy
the debug log(especially the payload it send to conductor) here? That will help
us to locate the root cause for the problem. Thanks.

Ruoyu

Thanks for noticing. I'm little bit confused by item no.4 'Build artifacts and

[onap-discuss][cli] What could be added in E release?

2019-06-19 Thread Ying, Ruoyu
Hi Kanagaraj,

In D release, I just add policy cli according to the old APIs and also have
'TEST' as one of the env param. I know E release is a maintainance release and
should only check in patches for bug fix or related to integration. So could I
submit patch to migrate the CLIs to the new policy api in E release? Thanks.

using it through the docker mode.
It kept asking for a parameter named 'schema-location', the detail looks like
this:
0x7003::Parameter schema-location is mandatory
However, I cannot find any description on this parameter in the cookbook.
Do you know how to solve the issue?

Best Regards,
Ruoyu

Re: [onap-discuss][cli] Error found in new schema validation

2019-02-25 Thread Ying, Ruoyu
Hi kanagaraj,

Got it. Thanks.
One more thing, inside the repo, the products now only includes onap-amsterdam,
onap-beijing, onap-casablanca, openecomp and sample. May you help create the
product for Dublin? So that I can add more schemas into the repo.

Ruoyu

Hi Ruoyu,

Place the new schema under some folder (example /tmp) and give the complete
path of the schema file to -schem-location parameter.
And please run schema-validate -help to find the usage details.

Hi Gulsum,

I’m not sure if you are interested with vFW use case with HPA involved.
Just for reference, you may refer to this page to test vFW with HPA
https://onap.readthedocs.io/en/casablanca/submodules/integration.git/docs/docs_vfwHPA.html#docs-vfw-hpa
which also contains the part for policy pushing.

Dear  Brian,

We would like to test Casablanca functionality with demos such as vFW and

There are  some  pages  like
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/vFW+CDS+Casablanca  however  doesn't  give the
whole procedure from robot scripts to policy pushing.
Is there an updated demo guide for Casablanca testing ?

Which robot scripts need to be executed ?
How is the service deployment procedure on VID?
Does SDNC preload is needed? Does APPC mount is needed?
How is the policy pushing procedure ?

Thanks,

It‘s little bit early as I’m still on my way to work. Would you be available if
we have this later like 6 or 7 pm in your time ? If that doesn’t work, what
about 8am in your time, that would be 10pm in my time.
Also copying my colleague here, who is now trying to handle the problem.
Thanks.

I’m sorry, I was having family medical issues, and was out for part of the week.

I am thinking very early for me, and late for you works.

According to my clock, If you can do 7am, I can do 5pm…. If that doesn’t work,
I can do very early sometimes.

That sound good?

  My initial thought is that this looks like the DB has not been initiated for

  Perhaps it will be helpful to have a Zoom Session.

Hi Prateek,

Have you uploaded the VNF policy for vFW into the policy framework? It seems
that OOF doesn’t get that policy.
Hence, it cannot get the corresponding demand inside the payload and perform
homing.
If not, you can refer to the page here to upload the policy

Re: [onap-discuss] Proposal: Automation on policy model uploading

2019-01-14 Thread Ying, Ruoyu
Hi Srini,

Yes. Policy models and policies are part of the policy framework. However,
there could be different models when the policy framework is used by different
consumers, in order to create different kinds of policies.
Now in OOF, we have different types of constraints/rules( different policies
correspondingly) such as hpa, distance, optimizations, query, etc. Each of them
requires a specific policy model.
And in the past releases, there's no corresponding cli command to upload these
models. Then OOF guys need to upload them manually through Policy's GUI
interface, since these models are located inside OSDF repo.
I've already reached out to policy team and they mentioned that in Dublin
release, they are going to design a new API to upload these models. So that I'm
wondering if OOF could take use of that new API and automate the process of
policy model uploading.
And I'll create a new jira story in OOF and refer it to INT-792.
Thanks.

Best Regards,
Ruoyu

Hi Ruoyu,

Aren't policy models and policies part of policy framework?

One of the goals for HPA hardening is to ensure that all operations related to
HPA can be done without any curl/postman. As part of that, one thing that need
to be ensure is that the policy models and policies can be created via CLI. If
that is not possible today, we need to raise JIRA stories against the CLI
project. I have talked to CLI PTL Kanagaraj in ONAP DDF and he is happy to fix
any gaps related to CLI for various APIs. Please create corresponding JIRA
stories in this EPIC: https://jira.onap.org/browse/INT-792, if there is no
corresponding CLI command.

Your point is also valid. Why would user need to upload the policy models.
Those are part of ONAP and they are not use case specific. Please confirm if
this is the point you are making. If so, I agree that OOF at the time of
deployment should upload OOF specific policy models to the policy framework.
You may want to raise a JIRA story on this too. In this JIRA story, please
refer to INT-792 for tracking purpose.

For my clarification:

- Are there policy models for each type of constraint in OOF? That is,
are they policy models, one for HPA, second one for distance etc.. or is it one
policy model for all the constraint types?

Thanks
Srini

Subject: [onap-oof] Proposal: Automation on policy model uploading

Hi OOF team,

I'd like to propose a new idea to let OOF upload the policy models used in
homing automatically through cmds.
I noticed that in the previous release, when we try to test a use case, we need
to upload the corresponding policy models into the Policy framework manually.
It could be fine for us engineers, since we have the knowledge where these
models are and where they should be uploaded. However, for end users(like
operators), it could be quite hard to finish these process.
So I suggest that could we add one more step inside OSDF that once the service
is ready, it will upload all the available policy models to Policy Framework
automatically. And therefore, users can then create policies that can be used
for homing according to these models though the GUI or cmd.

Any comments on that? Thanks.

Best Regards,
Ruoyu

Re: [onap-discuss][aaf] the status of aaf-service pod shown as running but the container never came up

2019-01-10 Thread Ying, Ruoyu
Thanks Jonathan,

I’m in China, Beijing time zone. Looks like only early mornings and evenings
works better.
I cloned the latest repo with Casablanca branch and retried the AAF deployment.
It still looks the same.
Does AAF have any dependency on other projects?
Thanks.

Greetings, Ruoyu,
  I will need to help you.

  My initial thought is that this looks like the DB has not been initiated for
Casablanca. Do you know if the DB data is new, or been around for other ONAP
Releases? (DB definition can be upgraded)

  Perhaps it will be helpful to have a Zoom Session.

  I am in the US, Central Time, where are you located, so we can pick a good
time to look at it with you.

Hi AAF team,

I’m deploying ONAP using the Casablanca release. While deploying the AAF
module(tried for several times), the pods are not running normally.

Hi Prateek,

You can first try with the doc here
https://onap.readthedocs.io/en/casablanca/submodules/integration.git/docs/docs_vfwHPA.html#docs-vfw-hpa
It provides detailed steps for the flow.
Thanks.

Hi,

I have ONAP R3 setup, I want to try the HPA based VNF placement.
Has anyone tried that? Can you please provide the appropriate link of
documentation along with the Heat Templates.

Thanks,

But it still maybe a bug here.

Hi Jonathan,

We’re having this issue in both OOF and VFC tenant in the integration lab. And
I got this issue after redeploying other components(I think AAI may also got
upgraded at that time). And I check the aaf-locate service port, it seems fine
here.
Thanks.

Is this on SB04?, and what time was the connection problem?

I have been monitoring SB04 all morning, and it continues to be fine.

The “seems to stop sometimes” is because it appears that SB04 is bounced, and
there is something different about the Persistence mechanism on SB04, so that
it doesn’t come up right all the time. Otherwise, if no-one restarts, it is
very stable.

I also checked early on “The Dailies” and they are up and functional as well.

Yes, we’ve observed that the aaf-locate service stops sometimes and users get
access denied in AAI. AAF team, do you more info or a workaround?

First step – you should verify if AAF is running. If you look at the logs for
the aai-resources pod it will usually tell you if it can’t get an answer from
AAF.

[onap-discuss] [OOM] Redeploy without affecting other components

2018-10-25 Thread Ying, Ruoyu
Hi all,

Is there a way to redeploy a single component while not affecting
others(including upgrade)?
I know before we can first purge certain component with command 'kubectl delete
- - purge ' then set 'true' in the integration-override.yaml
file for only one component. So that it will redeploy the certain component.
However, while using the newest version of OOM, I found these method won't
work. You have to enable all components in the integration-override.yaml, so
that other components won't be deleted. But sometimes, I really don't want to
upgrade the others.
Is there a way to do so?
Thanks a lot.

Ruoyu

[onap-discuss][oom][multicloud] Image not found for pod demo-multicloud-multicloud-windriver

2018-09-28 Thread Ying, Ruoyu
Hi all,

When I install multicloud through OOM, one pod named
'demo-multicloud-multicloud-windriver' always got status 'ImagePullBackOff'.
And I check the events inside, found that it is pulling the image named
"nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/multicloud/openstack-windriver:1.2.0-STAGING".
However, when I search inside the nexus repo, there's no image labelled with
that version. Any suggestions? Thanks.

[onap-discuss][AAI] Pod for data routing kept CrashLoopBackOff

2018-09-27 Thread Ying, Ruoyu
Hi AAI team,

When I setup AAI using OOM, all the other pods are working normally except the
pod named aai-aai-data-router. It kept getting status crashLoopBackOff
I also check the log of it, it shows like this:
vagrant@master:~$ kubectl logs -n onap demo-aai-aai-data-router-6989756cd8-zbp62
BOOT-INF/lib/* : no such file or directory

  .     ___ _ _
/\\ / ___'_ __ _ _(_)_ __  __ _ \ \ \ \
( ( )\___ | '_ | '_| | '_ \/ _` | \ \ \ \
\\/  ___)| |_)| | | | | || (_| |  ) ) ) )
  '  || .__|_| |_|_| |_\__, | / / / /
=|_|==|___/=/_/_/_/
:: Spring Boot ::   (v1.5.15.RELEASE)

Anyone know how to solve the problem? And does it affect the normal AAI service?
Thanks a lot.

Best Regards,
Ruoyu

Hi Ruoyu,

You are referring to the Beijing version. Helm version is 2.9.1 for Casablanca.
Please upgrade helm and also run helm init --upgrade to upgrade tiller.

Hi all,

I tried to setup OOM through rancher. I followed the steps in
https://onap.readthedocs.io/en/beijing/submodules/oom.git/docs/oom_setup_kubernetes_rancher.html
Which installs helm v2.8.2. And then I checked some of the mails here and
follow the steps on
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/OOM+Helm+%28un%29Deploy+plugins.
Then it pops error like this:

Error: open
/home/vagrant/.helm/plugins/deploy/cache/onap/charts/vfc/values.yaml: too many
open files
mv: cannot stat
'/home/vagrant/.helm/plugins/deploy/cache/onap-subcharts/common': No such file
or directory
Error: Chart incompatible with Tiller v2.8.2
Release "demo" does not exist. Installing it now.
Error: Chart incompatible with Tiller v2.8.2

After several tries, there's always the Chart incompatible error.
How can I solve it ? Thanks.

Ruoyu

Hi Harish,

I'm able to ping the host from aai inst1. So the dns is able to resolve the
host name to the aai inst2 ip address.

ubuntu@onap-aai-inst1:/opt/test-config$ ping aai.hbase.simpledemo.onap.org
PING vm2.aai.simpledemo.onap.org (10.0.1.2) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 10.0.1.2: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=1.39 ms
64 bytes from 10.0.1.2: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.734 ms
64 bytes from 10.0.1.2: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.824 ms

And also I can see the docker containers running inside aai inst2, which looks
like this:

ubuntu@onap-aai-inst2:~$ sudo docker ps
CONTAINER IDIMAGE COMMAND  CREATED
   STATUS  PORTS  NAMES
23b8f67f5c1celasticsearch:2.4.1   "/docker-entrypoin..."   3 days ago

test-config_aai.hbase.simpledemo.onap.org_1

Do you have any method to measure whether the Cassandra is working fine?
Thanks.

Hi Ruoyu,

Can you please try to do a ping aai.hbase.simpledemo.onap.org from the aai vm1?
If it doesn't work, it seems that the issue is some kind of dns issue that's
causing it.
Check the dns servers and see if they are up and then run this command to see
if your aai vm1 server is using the dns server:

cat /etc/resolv.conf

The dns server for onap should show up here
If everything on the networking side looks good between aai vm1 and aai vm2,
then please go to aai vm2 and check if the docker containers are running there?

Thanks,
Harish

Hi Harish,

I'm able to ping the host from aai inst1. So the dns is able to resolve the
host name to the aai inst2 ip address.

ubuntu@onap-aai-inst1:/opt/test-config$ ping aai.hbase.simpledemo.onap.org
PING vm2.aai.simpledemo.onap.org (10.0.1.2) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 10.0.1.2: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=1.39 ms
64 bytes from 10.0.1.2: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.734 ms
64 bytes from 10.0.1.2: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.824 ms

And also I can see the docker containers running inside aai inst2, which looks
like this:

ubuntu@onap-aai-inst2:~$ sudo docker ps
CONTAINER IDIMAGE COMMAND  CREATED
   STATUS  PORTS  NAMES
23b8f67f5c1celasticsearch:2.4.1   "/docker-entrypoin..."   3 days ago
   Up 3 days   0.0.0.0:9200->9200/tcp, 9300/tcp   elasticsearch
43a2605bb71bcassandra:2.1 "docker-entrypoint..."   3 days ago
   Up 3 days
test-config_aai.hbase.simpledemo.onap.org_1

Do you have any method to measure whether the Cassandra is working fine?
Thanks.

Best Regards,
Ruoyu

Thanks,
Harish

Hi all,

I'm trying to setup AAI env through docker and I've already setup the
aai-inst2. But when I try to bring up aai-inst1, I faced an error like this:
