[onap-tsc] FW: VNFRQTS PTL Election and Stepping Down as PTL

2021-11-29 Thread Trevor Lovett
TSC,

The PTL nomination window has ended for VNFRQTS with no nominations. As I will
be stepping down as PTL, this will leave the project without a PTL. Please let
me know if there are any final actions you need from me prior to my exit to
officially wrap up my time as PTL.

It was a pleasure to work with you all and the community. I wish everyone the
best moving forward.

Thanks,
Trevor

Subject: [onap-tsc] VNFRQTS PTL Election and Stepping Down as PTL

TSC and VNFRQTS committers,

Due to changes in my day-to-day responsibilities at work, the Istanbul release
will be my last as the PTL of the VNF Requirements project. I will be
stepping down, and begin a new election for PTL.

This email will start the self-nomination phase for VNFRQTS PTL. Please
nominate yourself for the PTL role if you are interested.

The nomination phase starts now and ends on November 23rd at 8:00 AM CDT.

Re: [onap-tsc] Request from CVC

2021-04-29 Thread Trevor Lovett
Traditionally requirements for workloads (VNF and PNFs) have been included in
the VNFRQTS project not the Modeling project. Is there a reason are deviating
from that here? I would expect the requirements for CNFs would extend beyond
modeling concepts.

Thanks,
Trevor

Dear ONAP Modeling Subcommittee,

We have got the following request from Yan Yang (CVC Committee) - Anuket
Assured Re-Launch Release
Plan
to provide a go/no-go on their requirements / testing input to the badge
launch.
CVC received the following feedback about ONAP CNF compliance - Is it correct?

 * H Release - ONAP CNF compliance requirements will be delivered by
modeling subcommittee
 * I Release - ONAP CNF compliance tests implementation will be delivered
by VTP (under VNFSDK)
I have brought this topic during the CNF Task force today but wanted to
follow-up directly with you as well.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Trevor,

Let me clarify something I forgot too.

The link
docs.onap.org<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__docs.onap.org&d=DwMFaQ&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=dIU_U39dl9FoORwHk72kyMcMyxm1s8RqOhr8grdzE2s&m=TpLS0CaBe4-lweQeNTdyZJ5Nbzb6Cg3QxoQW0WpRyxQ&s=qzGDIsOArBRdD2SSFajtGoGGCfOtqadTfUeInRCYH-Q&e=>
will also contain the new documentation.

So, in reality, we can just use
docs.onap.org<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__docs.onap.org&d=DwMFaQ&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=dIU_U39dl9FoORwHk72kyMcMyxm1s8RqOhr8grdzE2s&m=TpLS0CaBe4-lweQeNTdyZJ5Nbzb6Cg3QxoQW0WpRyxQ&s=qzGDIsOArBRdD2SSFajtGoGGCfOtqadTfUeInRCYH-Q&e=>
to avoid confusion since that link will have:
- the old releases (El Alto and older) which will point to documentation that
was generated using submodules
- the new releases (Frankfurt onwards and latest) which will point to
documentation generated using the intersphinx linking.

Let me know if this is a better explanation to your question

Thanks so much!
Jess

Dear teams,

As we agreed previously in the TSC calls and today's Docs virtual event,
we are proceeding with the deprecation of docs submodules:

Going forward we are not going to run both submodules and intersphinx linking
in parallel to avoid confusions among teams.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Re: [onap-tsc] Proposed replies to 3GPP Liaison Statements addressed to ONAP

2020-05-12 Thread Trevor Lovett
I don't know of a way to include both the commit ID and branch in the URL. I
could potentially create a tag and the URL can have the tag in it, but I don't
seem to have permission to do that so I'd need to figure out how to do that.

I will reiterate that the official 7.1.1 spec URL is
https://github.com/onap/vnfrqts-requirements/blob/frankfurt/docs/Chapter8/ves7_1spec.rst<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__github.com_onap_vnfrqts-2Drequirements_blob_frankfurt_docs_Chapter8_ves7-5F1spec.rst&d=DwMFAw&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=ZglJ8LOeAfevY7wWaSximhFMAzXaMdza5QYCg-DW6SU&m=ba-4BtmCA2f3Yd1j0Ko1uPkZMwIXSHYE2ZGUycls7Bo&s=A7kb4kJ-cYAcO2NkKxLH6MarNgQ-HJZGD8uw0kWQvxg&e=>,
and the contents will not change. If I was to make a change, that would
constitute a 7.1.2 or greater update. This would result in me creating a new
document and new URL as well as notifying 3GPP of such an update per our
liaison agreement.

I feel the desire to point 3GPP at a specific revision is unnecessary. Even if
I were to change to that document, it would still contain the 7.1.1 spec and
anyone viewing the ONAP documentation would see the latest update as 7.1.1.
3GPP would simply be pointing at an "old version" of the 7.1.1. Pointing 3GPP
at a specific revision doesn't really solve the issue of 7.1.1 changing without
their knowledge - only proper management of the spec, communication, and proper
versioning solve that.

If there remains a desire to still point at a revision, then let me know if the
URL with the commit ID is not sufficient and I can try to figure out how to
create tag like ves_7_1_1_frankfurt, and I will investigate further.

Thanks,

Magnus, Trevor,

Although the TSC agreed to the proposed replies to 3GPP.
There is still some concerns regarding the link.

Dear Catherine,

Thanks for reviewing.
I think your suggested link is better. The stability is paramount. It does not
have to be the very latest version. The link in the presentation is also fine
but could in worst case be compromised by an honest mistake.
@Trevor, unless you protest I will use the new link.

I have updated the deck to Rev E (attached).

Good evening Magnus,

My apologies we could not cover your topic during the ONAP TSC meeting.
I have reviewed your deck.

Slides #5, 6 -
I agree with your recommendation about using Github
I wonder If we should not specify a reference to the commit itself in case of
we change the rst file later in the Frankfurt branch?
Or we should provide this link instead?
:https://github.com/onap/vnfrqts-requirements/blob/05f26fac2b941513a7d0e856b99fd8c61d688299/docs/Chapter8/ves7_1spec.rst<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__protect2.fireeye.com_v1_url-3Fk-3D499dafef-2D173d4f71-2D499def74-2D86ee86bd5107-2Da171e6f3e3b7aa5a-26q-3D1-26e-3D64746985-2Dd576-2D44ca-2Da2fe-2D6f77173d4ddb-26u-3Dhttps-253A-252F-252Fgithub.com-252Fonap-252Fvnfrqts-2Drequirements-252Fblob-252F05f26fac2b941513a7d0e856b99fd8c61d688299-252Fdocs-252FChapter8-252Fves7-5F1spec.rst&d=DwMFAg&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=g9LhwjMTPM4AuoWvYyDmqA&m=dSIRsgigILPK1XkO88_V3KdV6e3yBY25tIIHJDYLT-c&s=6Bq81LcGST815-mSIEa7QPkmRy3AFvBsxLlmIORNq_Y&e=>
Or is 3GPP concern is that they always want to be sure to get the latest
version?

Slide #10 I do not like 3GPP suggestion to have info in the VES Common Header

so it would be nice if 3GPP agreed on our proposal

I believe that we will request the ONAP TSC to vote on your latest deck

Re: [onap-tsc] IT-18777 VVP

2020-01-22 Thread Trevor Lovett
The INFO.yaml has already been updated on VNFRQTS and VVP, and I have committer
access on both projects.

I submitted ticket IT-18746 for committer access. I didn’t see anything in the
documentation about this being automated based on INFO.yaml.

Perhaps the docs need to be updated here.

Hi Eric,

I think this project was created a long time ago. Project lead is Erik Sundelof
- former VVP PTL
But looking at the jira tickets, it sounds that this project is currently used
to cover VES.
I will follow-up with Vijay since it is unclear why they are using this project
VES instead of DCAE.

Stay tuned
