Dear Kenny,

I am torn. I like to apply but somehow I mixed it up with "there is not limit
to the number of candidates that can run."

But I missed the "4.2.1.5. One Person Per Company Rule"

And since I like and respect Andreas Geißler, I don't want to run for this one
seat of Deutsche Telekom.

Sorry for the confusion. But I believe Andreas is the better fit, if there is
only one person allowed per Company.

If you change at one point in time the rule, or of Andrea's might retire one
day, I am going to apply for that seat.

Till then I have to answer with "NO" to your Eligibility Waiver opportunity to
bypass my Active Community Member threshold.

many thanks for the opportunity,

best regards,

Flori

2022-09-22 Thread Kenny Paul
Hi Florian,

Yes, there is not limit to the number of candidates that can run. It is nice
to see a willingness to do so from a couple of folks this time around. :-)

Giving some flexibility in this case is warranted knowing that your original
submission was simply sent to my reminder thread in error.

The specific question that we need a yes/no answer from you is:

Are you requesting an Eligibility Waiver under Section 4.1.1.1 of the Technical
Community Document <https://wiki.onap.org/x/zQc0Ag> ?

Thanks!

Dear ONAP community,

I would like to nominate myself as a TSC member of the ONAP community
representing Deutsche Telekom AG.

I made my first contact with ONAP when I took over the role as technical
Product owner of DT’s System Team for TNAP. TNAP is the Telekom version of ONAP
(therefore the T).

Unfortunately, I haven’t 20 measurable contributions to the community, yet.

I only have some Wiki pages like, commented some tickets and had two (recorded)
talks:

* One during one of the OOM meetings:
<https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/OOM+Meeting+Notes+-+2021-11-24>
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/OOM+Meeting+Notes+-+2021-11-24
* And a second one in Porto at the LFN Event
<https://wiki.lfnetworking.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=68792723>
2022-06-15 - ONAP: DT and the use of OOM Helm Charts, Argo CD & Istio (Service
Mesh)
*

Nevertheless, I am very familiar with the with the OOM team and their current
adventures with Istio, because DT’s System Team is responsible for the
deployment and life cycle management of ONAP inside DT.

Despite the self-nomination for the TSC, my plans for ONAP are to be more
present in the OOM team. We as System Team from DT plan to contribute back our
DT work:

- everything we did with kubespray (to deploy ONAP)

- Service Mesh/Istio

- Life Cycle Management with ArgoCD of ONAP application.

On top of it, I like to convince the people behind ONAP that we need to split
the monolithic version number of the ONAP release process into one distinct
version number for each component (but we can keep a public facing version
number).

Therefor I look forward to the opportunity to be more present on the ONAP
community and being part of the TSC.

I live in the city Frankfurt am Main, and I am nowadays employed for a bit more
than 9 years at “V T&I” - Deutsche Telekom AG as a Senior Software Engineer /
Software Architect and now Technical PO. If you are interested in my “kind of”
CV (or if you like to be my LinkedIn friend), please check out LinkedIn here
https://www.linkedin.com/in/florian-bachmann-23606644/

If there can be only one Person from a company be chosen, I will leave my
nomination for Andreas Geissler. But the sentence "There are no restrictions to
the number of people from a company or group of companies that may run for an
available seat" made me to try it :-)

Best regards,

Flori

[onap-tsc] ONAP TSC Elections SELF-NOMINATIONS OPEN - Ends Sept 21, 2021

2022-09-21 Thread Chaker Al-Hakim via lists.onap.org
Dear ONAP Community,

This is my self-nomination for a seat on the ONAP TSC. I have been involved
with ONAP since day one, and even before that, I was the Senior Director
responsible for the development of the ECOMP platform at AT&T before ECOMP was
opensourced and became officially known as ONAP.

I am an Independent Consultant focusing on the Opensource Technology, 5G
Technology, Cloud Virtualization and future looking technologies.

I am currently the Chairman of the ONAP Architecture Subcommittee, ARCCOM, and
have supported this position for the past 3+ years. I have also been an active
member of the 5G-super blueprint, LFEdge TAC, ONAP Enterprise Work Group, just
to mention a few.

Up until 2016 I had spent over 30+ years with AT&T labs where I managed many
development organizations responsible for developing large scale systems in
support of the Advanced
Network Services and customer facing services. I was also a key contributor to
the SDN/NFV and
the virtualization strategy within the AT&T Labs. To that end, I managed the
development
organization that developed the ECOMP platform which, along with the Open-O
Project, became known
as ONAP which, as you all know, provides a comprehensive platform for
real-time, policy-driven orchestration and automation of physical and virtual
network functions.

Post 2016, I've held the positions of Technical Director of Virtualization and
Opensource Strategy at Huawei and Futurewei

If I were elected I will continue to support this community as I have in the
past 5 years and will collaborate with the rest of the team to further enhance
the mainstreaming and the adoption of the ONAP platform.

Regards,

Chaker

Dear ONAP community,

I would like to nominate myself as a TSC member of the ONAP community
representing China Telecom.
I am member of the TSC since March, 2020 and would like to continue in that
position in the coming election period.

Currently, I focus on the research and development of Intent-based Networking
(IBN) in ONAP, which is commented as a major step towards autonomous networks,
for operator and enterprise use cases by ONAP Marketing Priorities 2021.

Our China Telecom’s team has finished the development of IBN functions in
multiple releases cooperating with the partners of E2E Slicing and CCVPN
usecases from Huawei, Wipro, STL and China Mobile.

I also have been invited to give multiple presentations related to the research
and development of IBN based on ONAP in the international conferences
representing ONAP or China Telecom, including IEEE IBN workshop, Fierce
Wireless Network Automation Week and IEEE ICCC.

I will continue working on the research and development of IBN with the
partners of ONAP to drive ONAP as an advanced automation platform for the next
generation smart network.

Therefore, I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving in the TSC.

Best regards,

Dong Wang

Re: [onap-tsc] ONAP TSC Elections SELF-NOMINATIONS OPEN - Ends Sept 21, 2021

2022-09-20 Thread Perala, Timo (Nokia - FI/Espoo)
Dear ONAP community,

This is my self-nomination for a seat on ONAP TSC.

I'm Head of Open Source Network and Service Automation at Nokia, where I'm
responsible for driving Nokia's overall engagement in ONAP. In this role I work
across multiple industry organisations, both open source and standardisation,
engage with both customers and other industry players, as well as internally
across all Nokia businesses. I have over 25 years of experience in network
systems, ranging from multivendor interoperability verification, systems
architecture research, new business incubation, to network and operations
systems standardisation.
I've been with ONAP from the very beginning. At ONAP I'm currently Nokia TSC
representative, Requirements Subcommittee vice chair, and a DOC project
committer. In addition to ONAP, I serve at EMCO and Nephio TSCs.

I am excited of the opportunity to help ONAP become successful in the industry
and to accelerate its adoption. I'm looking forward to making it easier to
deploy ONAP or its components as necessary, and for new people to get involved
in the ONAP community.
Further, I intend to help fostering fruitful industry collaboration between
ONAP and other relevant open source communities and standards organisations.

cheers
Timo

Re: [onap-tsc] ONAP TSC Elections SELF-NOMINATIONS OPEN - Ends Sept 21, 2021

2022-09-09 Thread Magnus Buhrgard via lists.onap.org
Dear ONAP Community,

This is my self-nomination for a seat on the ONAP TSC. I am an open-source and
standardization manager at Ericsson.

Since 2019, I have been the ONAP technical community coordinator for generic
network management. In that role I have chaired sessions at various LFN
summits, conferences, workshops, bilateral meetings and reported to the TSC on
SDO activities. I have also handled liaison statements to/from SDOs on behalf
of ONAP and . Lately I was chosen to represent ONAP in LFN SPC. I have a
long-term engagement in carrier-grade network architecture and am active in a
number of standards organizations. I am committed to the challenge of merging
standardization, open source, and R&D ways of working. I strongly believe that
open-source collaboration benefits the telecom industry, increasing efficiency,
quality, transparency and software craftmanship.

Ericsson has consistently been one of the main contributors to ONAP and is
committed to support a vibrant community effort. My colleagues serve as PTLs
for four essential projects (CPS, DMaaP, SDC, PF) and vice chair of the
Architecture subcommittee.

Best Regards,
Magnus

Re: [onap-tsc] ONAP TSC Elections SELF-NOMINATIONS OPEN - Ends Sept 21, 2021

2022-09-08 Thread N.K. Shankaranarayanan via lists.onap.org
Dear ONAP Community,

I would like to nominate myself for a seat on the ONAP TSC. I have been the
ONAP SON Use Case lead since the Casablanca release, and am also actively
engaged with ONAP/O-RAN/OSC Harmonization. I joined the TSC in October 2021
to help with the application of ONAP for 5G. The work in ONAP for SON and
Slicing Use Cases is relevant to the O-RAN SMO. In the last year I
successfully championed a new work item in O-RAN WG1 and am the rapporteur
for the Decoupled SMO Architecture Technical Report.

Since mid-2021, I have been a Senior Principal Architect at Sterlite
Technologies Limited (STL) leading work on architecture, strategy, and
standards for ONAP/O-RAN based wireless network solutions. Before that, I
was with AT&T Labs Research for more than 29 years working to deliver
research innovations in wireless systems and networks.

Under my leadership, the ONAP SON Use Case team gained multi-company
support and has developed a solid foundation for ONAP-based SON with
several successful PoC demonstrations. We had a strong and early focus on
being aligned with O-RAN and 3GPP. The solution includes flows for actions
using O-RAN O1 and A1 interfaces, FM/PM/CM notifications from the RAN, a
RAN-Sim simulator component, and a methodology for incorporating AI/ML in
the applications. We did our use case integration testing as an early
adopter of the Rutgers University ONAP Wireless Lab and fostered the growth
of a joint industry/university testbed with a focus on wireless networks.
Recently, I have worked in the ONAP/O-RAN Harmonization effort to provide
feedback from the ONAP Use Case implementation insights in order to pursue
synergies and improve O-RAN Specifications.

At AT&T, I was the lead for developing and deploying the first ONAP-based
5G SON solution in production and have gained first-hand experience in
making ONAP ready for production deployment for SON and Radio Access
Network (RAN) automation applications. From 2005 to 2008, I was actively
engaged with the WiMAX Forum (WMF), where I was successful in building
consensus among operators and vendors for innovative global wireless
standards. I served on the WMF Board of Directors, and also as Chair of the
WMF Service Provider Working Group, and Chair of the WMF X.509 Task Force.

My objective in ONAP since the Casablanca release has been to foster an
open ecosystem for ONAP-based solutions for mobile networks. If I have the
honor of continuing to serve on the TSC, I will be able to offer a unique
viewpoint by combining my broad wireless background, operational ONAP
deployment insights, global standards experience, and the perspective of an
ecosystem technology provider committed to open platforms. I will work to
maximize alignment between ONAP and O-RAN/3GPP and leverage synergies
between ONAP and O-RAN OSC. I will also work to improve the maturity of
ONAP-based solutions to deploy, manage, and optimize production wireless
networks.

I look forward to the opportunity to work in the TSC to serve the ONAP
community and foster an open ecosystem.

Thank you,

N. K. Shankaranarayan

2022-08-25 Thread Andreas Geissler
Dear ONAP community,
I would like to nominate myself as a TSC member of the ONAP community
representing Deutsche Telekom AG.
I am member of the TSC since 2018 and would like to continue in that position
in the coming election period.

Since 7 years in DT I am working with the ONAP platform to create a new
management framework in DT (TNAP).
We executed a number of PoCs, gathered much experience with the ONAP components
and want to develop them further
to meet the future requirements to operate and orchestrate network services.
Besides my activities in ONAP I'm acting as lead system architect in DT's TNAP
project.

My DT colleagues, our partners and me are contributed to the ONAP releases in
several projects, like Documentation,
Integration, OOM, SO and CDS and are planning to extend our engagement in the
near future.

Main focus for the coming releases will be the production readiness of the ONAP
platform and the extension of its functionality.
Therefor I look forward to the opportunity to continue working in the TSC.
Best regards,
Andreas
