[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Identifying a fund debit

2014-04-17 Thread Borthwick, Fiona
Hi all,

Hopefully someone will know the answer to this query. When looking at a
fund record, you can see an amount debited. The Debits tab lists each of
the debit types and amounts as well as the create date and time. It does
not however list the purchase order details.

Is there any way to establish what the debits are for? It would be ideal
if the fund record also provided links to the associated orders but there
doesn't seem to be an easy way to identify which orders these funds have
been used for.

We have tried various combinations of acquisitions searching and I have
also looked at the reporting tools but without success.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a link between the debited amount
on a fund and the relevant order?

One of our customers has a single debit on a fund record. They wish to
remove the fund record but cannot do so for this debit. If we could find
the order to which this debit was for, then the fund in the order could be
changed to allow this fund to be clear and therefore removed.

Many thanks in advance!

Fiona

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Identifying a fund debit

2014-04-17 Thread Bill Erickson
Hi Fiona,

The information should be accessible via reports. There is a link from
each ACQ copy to its debit. From the ACQ copy, you can work back to the
lineitem and the purchase order. Similarly, there is a link from each
invoice item (ad-hoc purchases) to its debit and its purchase order.

If I were to do this in the DB, I would use something like this:
http://paste.lisp.org/display/142069 (change the WHERE to suit).

Hope this helps,

-b

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] patron self-registration

2014-04-17 Thread Holly Brennan
I'm getting ready to set this up for our library (single branch, no
consortium). We are running 2.5.2.

The instructions are pretty clear on where all the settings are (thanks to the
doc. author!)... I really just wanted to get feedback from libraries who have
implemented this, to see if there were problems that occurred during set up or
after going live. Dos and Don'ts, lessons learned, how long you keep pending
registrations, etc.

It's a procedure that appears straight-forward, which makes me suspicious!
Thanks in advance for your comments!

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] patron self-registration

2014-04-17 Thread Bill Ott
Beyond a custom form gathering a few extra bits of information, today
we're using most of the stock self-reg code.

We do run a query from cron to clean up leftover users after 30 days,
but that's about it.

I think the only do's/don'ts came down to making sure that staff asked
patrons if they had already pre-registered. Initially we ended up with
a fair number of users in the staging tables and the live user tables,
until it became something staff were more familiar with using.

That’s a great point, Bill. We will have to remember to add that question to

I’ve been looking at your pre-registration page. (I love the addition of the

Can you customize the message that appears after registration saying

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] patron self-registration

2014-04-17 Thread Rogan Hamby
You can change that text string in the register.tt2 file.

It'll look like this :

[% IF ctx.register.success %]

[% l('Registration successful!') %]

[% l('Please see library staff to complete your
registration.') %]

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] marc_stream_importer.pl

2014-04-17 Thread Kyle Tomita
Hi all,

I am trying to use marc_stream_importer.pl to import a list of marc records (in
a mrc file) and use a vandelay merge profile. Can you use
marc_stream_importer.pl to import a marc file instead of a vandelay queue?

Send your unsubscribe request to
open-ils-general-requ...@list.georgialibraries.org, not to
open-ils-general@list.georgialibraries.org.
