Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Payment types?

2017-02-08 Thread Rogan Hamby
Well, the development agenda isn't a set in stone thing and development
comes from different places. If you have a specific kind of payment you
want added creating a launchpad wishlist item is a start. Community
feedback and getting wider interest in what you want being implemented
certainly helps. From there a developer may take it up if they have the
inclination but the only way to guarentee it will happen is to hire someone
to do it.

Rogan,

Thanks. I figured that but wanted to confirm. Any thoughts on when
this can be added to the development agenda?

I don’t mean that one. Payment types are cash, credit, check, work, forgive,

appear to be things I can bill for – like fees or overdue items or damaged
items. I don’t want to bill people – they already have one. I want to mark
the payment with a different label. We need an additional category. We
would like to start tracking these in the cash report, but cannot do that right
now because there is no payment type for that group.

Does that make sense?

Thanks!

I think I have asked this before. Just asking again. Can we ADD payment
types to the list? The ones there are great, but we need one more. We are
an academic institution and we can send our fines to Student Accounts to be
paid through the cashier’s office. We want to mark these as paid, but not
paid to us, to include in our cash register receipts.(it is rather like
sending them to collections or something) None of the current payment types
suit our purpose.

  How do we add a payment type?

Thanks!

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Documentation hackfest: Friday, February 17

2017-02-08 Thread Jane Sandberg
Hello Evergreeners!

The Documentation Interest Group is gearing up to document the Web
Client, and you can help! We will be holding a hackfest on Friday,
February 17 to document some 2.11 features and the Web client's
cataloging and circulation interfaces.

If you've never contributed documentation before -- or just want to
spend some time getting used to the Web client -- this would be a good
time to give it a try! DIG members will be on hand to answer any
questions you might have. There are also a number of relatively
simple (but very important) tasks that you might choose to do, such
as:

* Taking screenshots of patron searching, registration, and records in
the Web client
* Reviewing the Batch Import/Export MARC documentation and making any
changes necessary for Web client use
* Re-writing the documentation for the Web Client's MARC editor
* Take screenshots of the Web Client Booking Module

If you're interested in participating, let us know what you plan to do
by assigning yourself at one of the two wiki pages:
* https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=evergreen-docs:webclient
*
https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=evergreen-docs:2.11_needs&s[]=2&s[]=11&s[]=documentation

If you'd like to participate, but don't have a wiki account or would
like some coaching on how to use IRC (the chat technology we'll be
using during the hackfest), email
open-ils-documentat...@list.georgialibraries.org, and we can get you
what you need. :-)

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!

  -Jane
