[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] patron registration - date of birth

2017-10-17 Thread Diane Disbro
Good afternoon -

The staff at my library are working through a patron registration exercise.
More than one person has asked why the birthdate needs to be entered
-mm-dd, a format not widely used in the USA. How should I answer that
question?

Thank you.

Evergreen is an international product. That format is fairly standard
outside of the U.S. (and in, as well). Oftentimes, if staff REALLY doesn't
want to use that format, there's a date picker available. Not always, but
often.

Good Afternoon Diane,

While this setting will affect various date formats throughout the
Evergreen database (and not just the Patron DOB field), you can set the
date format via Library Setting: Format Dates with this pattern.

I hope this helps!

Diane,

Are you talking about the old xul client or the new browser client?

While this setting will affect various date formats throughout the
Evergreen database (and not just the Patron DOB field), you can set
the date format via Library Setting: Format Dates with this pattern.

I don't think this setting affects the date format in the browser client
patron registration form.

Could I get more details? I have my display fields but I am having trouble

Sorry for the delay in responding to your e-mail. The source I used for this

Sorry, I inadvertently sent the previous message.

I intended to say that our report includes the following data:

If you think this report would be useful, I can provide more details.

Best regards,

Suspended, cancelled and fulfilled holds are excluded.

The report displays the following data:
