Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] What should be done during unexpected library closings?
We also backdate when checking in items. However, we go ahead and add an entry in the closed date editor to ensure that fines do not accrue on those days we are closed. I should add that we usually are able to put this closed date into the system at least one day before the closed date. I am not sure if the closed date can be entered the same day and fines not accrue. Hello, I wanted to ask the community what steps are normally taken when a library has to unexpectedly close. For my library this happens a couple of times a year because of snow storms. I already use amnesty mode when the library opens up again. I was thinking of also temporarily disabling overdue and pre-overdue notices during the unexpected closings too, so that patrons are not told to return items when the library is temporarily closed. Should I instead add an entry to theclosed dates editor instead? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance, yamil
Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Please take our survey! (New EG Reports Interface)
Hi, all, Tomorrow is the last day to participate in the PINES survey regarding the development of a new Evergreen reports interface. We want your input! Recognizing the limitations of the survey (as expressed in my previous e-mail below), we hope as many folks as possible will participate in the survey. In particular, please forward the survey to those library directors and front-line staff who are not on this list. A summary of the survey data from the Evergreen community will be shared with the Evergreen Reports Interest Group so as a group we can consider how to move forward with the reporting needs of the various types of Evergreen libraries. Here's the link to the survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BQKTGRX http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BQKTGRX If you would like to review the questions before beginning the survey, please see the following PDF: http://pines.georgialibraries.org/files/EG%20New%20Reports%20Interface%20Su rvey.pdf http://pines.georgialibraries.org/files/EG%20New%20Reports%20Interface%20Sur vey.pdf Any inquiries about this project, can be sent to: mailto:pines-reports...@list.georgialibraries.org pines-reports...@list.georgialibraries.org Many thanks, Cristina -- Cristina Hernandez Trotter Head of Reference Dept. and Heritage Center Oconee Regional Library System 801 Bellevue Ave. Dublin, GA 31021 478-272-5710 (phone) 478-272-0524 (fax) http://www.ocrl.org/ www.ocrl.org From: chtrot...@ocrl.org [mailto:chtrot...@ocrl.org] Sent: Wednesday, February 27, 2013 3:08 PM To: 'Evergreen Discussion Group' Subject: RE: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Please take our survey! (New EG Reports Interface) Hello, all, Yikes! In copying over our original PINES-specific survey, I neglected to change some of the wording. My apologies. So wherever you see IntraPINES holds, % of PINES totals, etc., please just substitute PINES with your consortium/system name as you read. Unfortunately, I cannot edit the wording once the survey has started. We created this survey specifically for the PINES consortium, but we thought it useful to get as much input as possible from the EG community before we finalize development requirements for this project. Admittedly, the only question we added/changed for the EG-community version was about library type. We ask anyone interested to please complete the survey with awareness of the survey's limitations. Your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all who have already completed the survey thus far! [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Please take our survey! (New EG Reports Interface)
Hello, everyone, The PINES Reports Working Group is working on requirements for a new reports interface for Evergreen. We hope to streamline and simplify the process for running basic daily reports so that front-line staff and directors can get the information they need quickly and independently of technical staff. (The new interface will not recreate or replace the existing reports interface.) Now we need your help! Please help us identify what information is most needed by front-line staff and directors by completing the following 15-20 minute survey by Friday, March 8th: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BQKTGRX If you would like to review the questions before beginning the survey, please see the following PDF: http://pines.georgialibraries.org/files/EG%20New%20Reports%20Interface%20Sur vey.pdf Any inquiries about this project, can be sent to: mailto:pines-reports...@list.georgialibraries.org pines-reports...@list.georgialibraries.org Many thanks, Cristina -- Cristina Hernandez Trotter Head of Reference Dept. and Heritage Center Oconee Regional Library System 801 Bellevue Ave. Dublin, GA 31021 478-272-5710 (phone) 478-272-0524 (fax) http://www.ocrl.org/ www.ocrl.org
